Banded Nurses?
does anyone know of a good nursing agency to work for in east texas? I wanted to get an application from somewhere that was recommended.

Have you had your 2nd fill?
I had half of what he put in for the second fill taken back out. I am much better, still have restriction but I can drink a little bit sips at a time and even got a little bit of soft foods in today. Lost two pounds yesterday from the tightness. I know that will come back fast. LOL. Everyone is different, I have the small ap band and I am thrilled to have tightness now. TOO tight is horrible though. Happy thanksgiving !!

Have you had your 2nd fill?
I did the same thing, yesterday had my second fill. Started foaming about after i left the office, but i didnt go back. NOW I have to go back today, wish I would have gone back right then. I cant get liquids in, a sip or two and that is it. I didnt want to get any out ! I regret it now. Going in this morning to get some out. Give yourself a least 15 minutes or so after you drink and eat the cracker after the fill. I left too quickly.

Updated September Bandsters!
My doc wouldnt tell me how much he put in the band. He just said "the appropriate amount and remember this is not about restriction but rather that you can eat smaller amounts and go 4-5 hours without feeling hungry. Some days I am starving ! Lots of will power is right ! But... I am doing it pretty good, just keep reminding myself not to overstretch the upper pouch and that scares me to eat less.

Updated September Bandsters!
I didnt drink until after my dr took the needle out. I drank sips of water then I ate a pb cracker and waited to see if it was okay and I left. I get fills every 6 weeks unless I dont need it then wait another 6 weeks.

Updated September Bandsters!
understand ! I feel like I could eat as much as I use too sometimes, :heh: more so as the day goes by. I really want to lose too and I have to keep using the tea cup saucer to eat on or the 1/2 cup plastic bowls. Baby spoon helps a little too. I just know that I am not getting enough fluids, I dont have time ! I was told I could stretch the upper pouch, dont want to mess with that, hope I havent already done that. If I dont chew something it will get stuck ! At least it did about three days after my first fill. I still fill a bone stuck feeling sometimes so I must have restriction of some kind. I go in Nov 20th for my next fill, cant wait to eat a couple of bites and feel full and stay full !!!! Everyone sound NORMAL to me and what I have read on here. LET LOSE LOSE LOSE !!!:whoo:

oh yea... no nibbling or snacking... the band is suppose to keep you feeling full... dont keep putting little bits of food in there, it just goes on thru it.

Updated September Bandsters!
had my fill at 5 weeks. slimed once. i am starting to feel hungrier this week, food doesnt last as long. My wt has slowed but I am not worrying until a couple of fills. I can tell I am losing inches !! It is very hard to eat 1/2 cup of food when you KNOW you can eat alot more but you dont want to stretch the upper pouch... I have to remind myself to stop eating at every meal !! But... this will get better everyone says it. Hang in there. WE CAN DO THIS

Glad to see a new nurse thread. We gotta stick together ! What is everyone eating post op? Are you still losing? I am losing but man, it is slooowwwww. Probablly my fault. I still love food but it is getting less attractive now. Go nurses !!!

September bandsters Progress
we can do this. It is written in all the threads on here. The more you need to lose the faster the first pounds come off. I am definitely eating a lot less than I use to eat and it hasnt been painful. I just have the head thing to get over and I am sure that takes a long time. Eating out is hard for me, I am scared to eat a salad. That will definitely have to be done at home first. After sliming thurs I dont want to try any new foods away from home. It is sure saving me some money eating out. I am okay too about the 1-2 pounds a week. That is still great, exactly what this band is suppose to do. I just keep remembering what someone on here said. Look at that preop weight and know you will never see that again. YEA. Lose, Lose, Lose everyone ! Dieting isnt so hard if you dont feel hungry all the time.:clap2:

Any September bandsters out there???
I only had one pair of jeans and this pair was hard to get on before the preop diet. Yesterday, I pulled these jeans down without unzipping them ! WOO HOO !!!!! My father keeps asking me how much have I lost. I cant wait to tell him this so he will shut up! Everyone needs to quit asking me how much I have lost. They just dont understand that this is a slower process than the bypass. We gotta educate them I guess. Ya'll hang in there. We are losing INCHES everyday .

September bandsters Progress
My first fill was fine. I barely felt the needle, couldnt see him do it, had my arms above my head. I am on liquids today, and HUNGRY but I am going to bed soon, I get mushies tomorrow. Cant wait. I reailize I wasnt letting my stomach get hungry enough before the fill. I am scheduled to go back in 5 weeks, doc said but that is what they scheduled me for. I didnt know that he will schedule them every six weeks unless I dont need one, then I guess i wait another 6 weeks if I skip one. :faint: I was enjoying the food too much and not waiting until I was hungry. This is a good wake up call. I got the hiccups really strong and loud tonight after a protein drink. I guess I drank it too fast. It was 8 oz of ff milk and a scoop of vanilla protein. I dont expect a big difference with the first fill but I am hoping for less hunger between meals. HAS anyone conquered the "head hunger" and just missing eating ? If it wasnt for all the little 1/2 cup container I have, I would forget how much to eat and just keep going. Love to hear any pointers out there. Some of you already have LOTS of weigh lost. Congrats ! Hope to move my ticker this week. Good luck everyone.

Any September bandsters out there???
go the the doctor mermaid! This is not suppose to be losing weight time anyway... you have to heal. If we lose, it is a bonus. Walk, walk, walk !!! Drink, drink, drink... Remember to only eat 1/2 cup of food. I have the same surgery date. I am HUNGRY too but I drink now instead of eating when I get that pain. You can do this...

DH says just chew it up and spit it out
hey, how is everyone doing? I had my first very very strange dream last night. Other than wanting to eat too much, I am doing great. I am starting to feel like I WASNT banded now. Keep on losing !

September bandsters Progress
pooh - I will sip and eat a cracker is what I have heard for the fills. Next tuesday, cant wait. Go to my first support meeting monday night. I can eat more than I want right now. I am trying real hard to eat 1/2 cup and not drink. The not drinking is the worst part to me. :bounce:I dont expect to have a good restriction the first fill. Still... better than before banding. Keep losing everyone.

biotin is a vitamin, suppose to help with hair and nails. there have been problems with thinning hair or losing hair later on. I bought it at walmart. I usually take one a day, sometimes i forget it. I have really thick hair, just doing it as a precaution. Some have had bad effects about 3 months or so along.
