    First fill

My first fill was a good experience also. It is quick and painless (besides the numbing shot as she mentioned above). I didn't have any discomfort after at all. Just remember you won't feel much restriction after your first fill. It takes 3-4 before you feel one. The only bad experience I had in a fill was my fault because I did not eat. I had the worst day ever and wasn't eating like I should. I went to my fill hungry and thirsty so while the needle went in I got dizzy and passed out. The doctor said (and I've read this) that this can happen if you don't eat before you do your fill.. So have a bite before you go : )

    Swallow test cant see band

You are 20 pounds away from your goal, why would you need bypass or sleeve. That seems like a terrible recommendation. If the bad slipped they should be able to go in and put it back on.

    First fill

My experience was similar to Mike. I really didn't start to feel restriction until after my 3rd fill. I didn't realize that was normal until I came on here and read about it. You still have to use a lot of will power and self control to control the amount you are eating. But stay positive because the next fill will come before you know it!

    4th Fill

Bama53- Yes of course I talked to my doctor about the foods I can and can't eat. My question for the group was shy I could not eat directly after a fill. SandyM- The swelling aspect of it makes sense. I never really thought of that. I guess I should have worded feeling "full" better. I felt like I was eating more then I should have been eating at a meal. I explained to the doctor how much I was eating and he agreed. Grazing is hard. I somehow got completely away from that (thankfully). I eat 3 meals a day and one snack between lunch and dinner. Something about 3-4:00 every day that just has me hungry. Ablond- Thanks for sharing your experience! I will be sure to stay away from cheating after a fill

    Second Fill and Starving

I did not start feeling restriction until after my 3rd adjustment. I was pretty much able to eat everything and I hated it. If you don't feel it right away you probably won't. You should try to keep track of how much you get each time.

    4th Fill

I had my 4th fill yesterday. This was also my 6 mo appt. I'm done about 30 pounds. (10 pounds since my last fill). I had 1cc put in, so I'm up to 6 cc. I still don't feel "green" yet, because I still get hungry between meals a lot, and don't aways feel full after the portion I'm supposed to eat. 2 questions: 1. I passed out during my fill yesterday. As soon as he put the needle in I started getting dizzy and hot. By the time he was done with the fill I was out! This never happened to me before during a fill, but the doctor said it's normal. Has this happened to anyone before? 2. Why does the doctor say to only do liquids after the fill, then soft, the solid etc. Why can't I eat right after a fill?

    Went for my first fill

I didn't notice any difference after my 1st fill either. I didn't have any in at surgery, so I got 3 oz with my first fill. Wow on the liquids for a week. The doctor told me. 1 day clear liquid 1 day full liquid 1 day soft and then eating again by day 4. What a big difference. I've always done fine with that.

    3rd fill in the books

I just had my 3rd fill also. 1st fill 3oz 2nd fill 1.5oz 3rd fill .5oz I didn't feel anything after my first. I felt a good difference after my 2nd, but not too much from 2nd to 3rd. I think I heard from somebody that it's .5oz every 4-6 weeks from here on out until you are green. My next appt is scheduled for 5 weeks from now, which is my 6 mo since surgery. I lost 6 pounds between my 2nd and 3rd. I'm hoping to double that this time since I have increased my activity.

Not Losing- 4 months Post op

It's been a week since my adjustment and I feel really good. I lost 5 pounds, but I know some of that has to do with the liquid diet a couple days after the adjustment. The nutritionist meeting went really well also. I've been eatng differently this week and I can feel it. More energy. I've also started to eat a little bit more. She said I was not eating enough which was causing my body to go into starvation mode and not lose weight. I'm starting to incorporate some turkey and more fish into my diet and I've added an afternoon snack into my routine.. Thanks again for all the tips

Not Losing- 4 months Post op

Thanks for all the suggestions and tips. The adjustment went well yesterday. I had .5 cc put in so I'm up to 5cc total now. I have another appt scheduled for 4 weeks. I'm also going to meet with a nutritionist tomorrow and try not to eat so much processed foods. My doctor also told me yesterday that since I'm working out 4 days a week I need to make sure I'm eating enough food and Protein. Why omit the bananna?

Not Losing- 4 months Post op

I am not vegan. I have just never been a huge meat Eater but I do eat it. I do exercise so maybe I'm not consuming enough? Sounds like I should add some more into my meals? Maybe add the egg and some meat into my eggs? I don't know. How any calories a day should we be consuming?

I'm not hungry throughout the day. I usually only get hungry around 3pm and that's when I have a snack. The yogurt, eggs and the burger all have a lot of Protein. I don't add any starches in my meals. It's protein and veggies. Can a few people post a sample day of their food?

I feel like I'm getting enough Protein Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled with mushrooms and a banana Lunch: weight watchers frozen entrée- shrimp linguini Snack: Greek yogurt Dinner: black bean veggie burger (no bun) with pickles and tomato, broccoli That's what I had yesterday. No other Snacks throughout the day. I usually drink about 6 glasses of Water a day and no other liquid.
  14. 4 weeks after surgery when I was able to start eating, I did. I gained most of the weight back that I had lost pre-op. After my 1st fill, not much change. I didn't lose weight, but I didn't gain either After my 2nd fill I lost a couple pounds, but not much. I definitely know that I'm not eating too much. I eat 3 small meals today and rarely snack (maybe 1x a week). Why am I not losing weight? I'm eating a lot of Protein and vegetables. I rarerly eat starchyfood. I don't get why the 1-2 pounds a week is not coming off like I thought it would. It's been 4 weeks since my 2nd fill and I'm going for my 3rd fill today. I'm hoping that after this I will actually start to lose weight on a steady basis. I know it is a slow loss, but if I can at least see the 1-2 coming off a week I would feel so much better. I'm 4 months out from surgery now and I'm only down 4 pounds from my surgery date. (overall I'm down more than that from the weight I lost pre-op).. but only 4 pounds in 4 months??
  15. I did not really lose any weight after 4 weeks. Maybe just a few pounds. I did not start losing weight until after my 2nd adjustment. I'm going for my 3rd adjustment today. The band is put on at full capcacity, so after surgery there is not really any restrictions. It's up to you
