Have you tried the chewables in caramel flavor? I think they are delicious! Just like eating candy to me. I look forward to them everyday. I didn't care for the other flavors I tried.

So sorry you ladies have having problems. I too used Premier Protein that I get at SAMs. I don't like the vanilla flavor only the chocolate. It is not thick like Protein powder, so maybe they will work for you. You could by the 4 pack at Walmart first to make sure you like them. I used Pure Protein ready mixed the first few weeks after surgery. I got them at walmart Light tasting and very easy. Some drugstores have these with 35 grams. LMy favorite Greek yogurt is Dannon Light and Fit. 12 grams of protein and not a lot of sugar or carbs. My nut recommended them to me. They have fruit flavor and vanilla. My favorite protein powder is Syntha 6 by Matrix. It tastes really good blended with almond milk and a little sugar free instant pudding mix, and ice in my bullet. Syntrax Nectar unflavored protein can be used to mix in drinks and food. Mixes very well. I hope some of this helps you. Good luck!

I can definitely identify with you on the plateaus! I have had several in the past 3 months! Yes, it is very frustrating! I am down 69 pounds since my highest weight before surgery. I go to the gym 3 or 4 days a week and ride my stationary bike at home other days. I have 33 pounds to lose before I reach my goal weight. I know without surgery I never would have been able to do this on my own. I just wish I had done this years ago. I am 68 and feel better than I have in 30 years. We just have to keep on keeping on and the weight will come off eventually.

I was put on chewable Bariatric Advantage multivitamins twice daily right after surgery. I also take sublingual B12, Iron, and calcium chews (3times daily). I didn't start Calcium until 2 weeks out.

I eat carbs but not simple carbs like sugar, white bread, white rice, white potato, and Pasta. I eat complex carbs w/whole grains and some Protein, like Josephs wraps, quinoa, sweet potatoes, beanitos, whole grain crackers and Bear Naked Protein Granola. I eat Protein Bars on occasion.
I eat protein first, then veggies, then carbs if I can. Most times there is just no room for carbs. I am healthy enough - all my blood tests come back perfect. I'm probably eating better than I have in my whole life. :-)

A great day!!! I have lost 90 lbs and I'm half-way to my goal. The last 3 weeks have been hard as I struggled with carb cravings. I decided to go back to basics and have eliminated simple carbs and added a little more exercise. I have recommited to beat the head hunger.

I too thought weight would drop faster. Really trying to not get down and I am hanging in there as this is a journey and not a race.

If you try mixing 1 or 2 spoons of sugar free pudding mix to your matrix it may taste better to you. I mix it in all my shakes I make. I love the taste and it gives a smoother consistency. Also the powdered Peanut Butter is good mixed in.

Hi, I had gastric bypass October, 16, 2013. I am 66 years old. My only regret is that I didn't do this earlier. I was on 40 units of lantus and metformin twice a day. I took 4 pills a day for hypertension. I'm off all diabetes meds and take only 1/2 of one of my bp pills. I have lost 55 lbs so far and feel 100% better! I have to say I was really afraid to have this surgery, but I knew I had to do something to have a better quality of life. I can now walk without my hips hurting and climb stairs without getting out of breath. It is so worth it! Good luck to all of you who are in your sixties!

Thank you! I have enjoyed this forum. Before I had surgery, I thought I was too old! Not so! I am feeling better now than I have in 20 years! Being off most of the meds I was taking for diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol is wonderful!

I had my bypass at 67 last October. I did great, very little pain. I just wish I had done this years ago. I feel so much better now.
