Wallflower7522 got a reaction from joatsaint in Starting My C25K Adventure - Looking for Advice
Don't get bummed out if you can't do it in 9 weeks. I've been trying for almost a year. He longest I've ran straight is half a mile. I've learned I have asthma so that's been a struggle. Sometimes it just takes a while. But I've still done two 5ks and I really enjoyed both. My time is like 43 minutes but when I started it took me 20 minutes to do one mile so im happy.

Wallflower7522 got a reaction from blashlee in Reality Check- I hate my new body
I'm in my 20s. I've lost 140 lbs and I'm still saggy. My arms and legs are the worst. I go the the gym at least 3 days a week. It won't tighten up your skin. That's just the reality. But you know what going to the gym will do is build muscle. I have a lot of flab but I have a lot of muscle too and it fills out the flab some. I still have bag batwings, and wrinkles. But I've gained almost 10lbs the past few months but my body is still shrinking so I know I'm adding muscle.
Here's my point. You can't control how flabby you'll be and everyone is different. But you can still work on your body and get strong, and fast and build muscle. It's far from perfect but I'm proud of what I've got.

Had an NSV I didn't expect. I packed for vacation tonight and my clothes didn't take up the whole suitcase. They actually didn't even take up half the suitcase. I guess that means I can just bring more clothes with me right?

Helped a friend move last night, walked about 5 miles this morning for the opening of a local rail to trail, and the helped my dad move this afternoon. I'm tired and sore, but I seriously can't imagine being able to do this much 6 months ago.

I have a friend. She that girl that you think "wow she's so tiny." She is brining me clothes now. She brought me a shirt today, it was too big for her to be fair, but I thought" this will not fit me." It totally fits me. I'm still about 40lbs from being as small as she is, but it's pretty amazing because I always thought "I'll never be that small"

My 6 month surgiversary was on the 3rd but I hit the 100lb mark yesterday from my preop weight. Now, unfortunately the last 8lbs was from some serious dehydration from being sick (not surgery related) and I expect some of it to come back, but I figured I'm sick and miserable so I might as well Celebrate what I can. I'm down from a 24 bottom 3x top to a 14 and L tops. I actually bought my first medium at old navy last night!
At this point I have no regrets. This has been the best thing I've ever done for myself.

I walked 41 miles last week. And today I got the treadmill up to 7 just for about 30 seconds lol.

    Thanks everyone.
I didn't have the flu. I got sick almost 3 weeks ago right after the walk I did. They thought it was a sinus infection but it turns out I actually have asthma. I've been trying so hard to work out since I fully recovered from surgery and I've been struggling with getting sick for a prolonged period twice and I just have trouble running for more than about 30 seconds at a time. Now I know why. But at least now I've got it figured out I can approach the gym knowing it's just going to take me longer than it would other people. I've just got to baby my lungs a bit.

I like Asics too but if you're really having issues go get professionally fitted at a running store. You'll probably pay a bit more but it will be worth it.
