  1. Walk around the house as much as you can to get rid of the gas. Follow all the rules. Take no chances and in a few days you'll be surprised how much better you feel.
  2. The blood in probably from the tube they put down your throat for the surgery it's very irritating. I would follow the nurses instructions for now.
  3. I'm surprised your sipping already. I was npo until the next day. Your getting IV fluids so you won't get dehydrated. Are they giving you the IV Tylenol? I had it post op and feel it made a world of difference with my post op pain. I never needed anything else because I was getting the IV Tylenol around the clock first 24 hours.
  4. I don't feel the difference really except It caused what they call micro aspirations usually in my sleep which made it dangerous is I would coke on whatever was left in my esophagus but when asleep you don't react as well. I haven't had any of the issues since he band was removed. Thank god. I'm hoping the dilation resolves as time goes on.
  5. I have a dilated esophagus from my band which caused what they called a psuedo achalasia. I had the band removed in oct 2013 sleeve revision dec 26,2014. I have been doing well. The dilated esophagus caused me to fail my post op swallow eval but my doctor wasn't worried said this was common with the dilated esophagus. My loss had been very slow as well but I keep reminding myself a loss is a loss. The dilated esophagus has me on the very slow path. It's scary but I pray all works out. I'm just under 6months out. The best of luck to you as you make your decision. I wasn't smart enough to be worried pre op. I just figured the dilated esophagus would resolve after the band was removed but it's not an automatic.
  6. Zofran is for nausea so I wouldn't use it for heartburn. Maybe try Nexium. I can tell you I tried to stop my Nexium and my god the stomach pain was unbelievable-- burning pain nausea all in one. Resolved after the next dose of Nexium.
  7. I work South Jersey if that counts. Good luck with your surgery.

My Nutritionist said 800 calories per day. 70 g Protein or 35% protein; 70 g carbohydrate or 35% carbs; 30 % fat. Of course make healthiest choices.

    Feel like im losing slow

You sound just like me. I'm 4 months out. Had my revision done on Dec 27,2014. I am down 40 pounds and feel like its super slow. The only thing that's keeping me going is the idea of maintaining the loss. It's been 4 months of not gaining weight so I'm happy about that. I go to the doctor on Monday so I'll see what he thinks. Keep up the good work and never give up.

    Vitamin help please!

These are the Vitamins I use. Dissolve them both in 4oz Water. Taste a little like tang.
  11. The issue is when most who have a band had surgery it was the less invasive alternative. Fast forward 7-10 years and the sleeve has taken its place. Just like technology improved so does medicine. Best of luck with your sleeve and don't beat yourself up because it didn't work.

    Post-OP Sample Menus

Thanks for sharing I love the guidelines included here. And as previously stated each team advances differently but this a great guide.
  13. Sounds like you should go to a doctor or hospital. Friends are great but try should not encourage you to stay home under your own medical care/without proper medical oversight. I understand the whole not wanting to pay for an ER visit but this seems a little dangerous to me. Hope your feeling better soon and that you get the care you need. Don't take chances with your health.
