I absolutely hate wasteful packaging! I work for amazon and when I order from them, sometimes I wonder "was this big of a box necessary?"
  3. I am! She makes awful food choices and I have tried to help her before she gets to be as heavy as I am. She drinks Lipton Sweet tea and eats candy and carbs all day. She drinks at least 1000 calories in tea a day!!! I hope that she learns from my surgery as it's not the easy way out and starts making healthier choices.

    Brazillian Wax

Any ladies have a brazillian while still bigger? My sister and I are Supposed to be going today, but I'm nervous!
  5. How far post op are you? And what are the recommendations by your doc right now? Soups saved me during soft/purée and mechanical soft diet.

    Why is Bread so Bad?

Bread just doesn't sit well with me! I'm glad as it can be a trigger for me. I used to go through periods where I would have a loaf of bread and it just sat there and was eventually thrown out, then other times, I could go through a loaf in a few days by eating toast, sandwiches, etc. I'm still learning what my little sleeve likes, but bread is on the no no list for now. I'd love to be able to eat a toasted turkey Blt someday, like 1/2 a sandwich, but if bread continues to be an issue, I will make it a lettuce or spinach wrap. Love lettuce wraps! Even wonton wrappers can sub for bread/dough. Why oh why did Pinterest pique my interest in all things wonton wrapped?!?!
  7. She knows where to stick the knife and stab it! We grew up with a psycho dad who was abusive, I'm sure she learned this from him. It just makes me sad that that is the only thing she focuses on when she is mad at me. I know she doesn't want me to succeed as that would make her the "heavy" sister and I've been the "heavy" sister for 15 years or so.

    Freaking out

Sunflower seeds saved me during pre-op diet. You get the hand to mouth motion, it takes awhile to unshell them and eat them, and they have protein!

    First bad meal post op!

I have not had a burger or burrito since surgery. I have had a pasta noodle to try and it seems to sit heavy in my sleeve. In fact any bread product feels dense and like a rock just sitting there. I have had tortilla pizza, but now that I read about wonton wrapper pizzas, I want that instead. My sister and I went to a Mexican restaurant and I just ate a piece of shredded chicken out of her taco. A burrito seems like it would be way too heavy as the tortilla isn't cooked. I saw a whole list on Pinterest of wonton wrapper pizzas, tacos, and burritos. Fill them and bake til crispy! I can't wait to make little bite size pizzas. Honestly with as few bites as I take now, 2 little wontons would be filling enough!

    Pickle juice

Lol! My niece drinks pickle juice and loves it! I would make sure to strain out any garlic or dill bits.
  11. Great! She was calling me a fat ass bitch again today! I love her, but I just can't take the negativity and mean nature anymore!

I only use organic/hormone free meats when I cook. I love organic veggies and fruits too. So much more flavor! I wouldn't use chemicals. I know we need to make use of every tiny bit of our sleeves (or rny/band pouches)! I wouldn't want to fill them up with bad stuff!

That is why I was thinking of this! We are an on the go society and many of us don't have all day to prepare meals or even do those plan ahead frozen meals. Of course they wouldn't Beas expensive as regular lean cuisines or ww meals since they would be smaller! Minimal packaging is always great and I'm hoping it would all recycle! I think most of what we buy now is recyclable

    Pre-Op Diet Yay or Nay?

If you don't follow the diet, your liver may not shrink enough. I followed a 1 week pre op diet and was still closed up and told my liver was still too large. The next surgeon I went to said he doesn't understand why the other doc couldn't do the surgery, but either way, the diet is to shrink your liver. The new surgeon I went to had me do a 3 week pre-op diet and I kept to it like a champ! There was no way I was waking up again without the surgery being done

    Low temp

Where are you taking your temp? And with what type of thermometer? My temp usually runs lower than normal

We should totally chat about it! I was reading how more than 200,000 people are having bariatric surgery each year! That's a lot of tiny bellys to fill! I hate wasting food and having things in smaller quantities would be nice. I would want to cover all the bases...wonton wrapper pizza, and other italian food...it would be nice to have a baked chicken Parmesan with amazing flavor and some zucchini or spaghetti squash on the side. Mexican wonton tacos, or even precooked taco meat so all you have to do is heat the portion. Chili is another great food! More food ideas...off the top of my head..we can always add more! I'm picky so I'm thinking of good food I know my family likes with me ???? Soups/stews Tortilla Soup Minestrone Chicken noodle Hamburger stew Turkey burger stew Beef chili Turkey chili Veg chili Entrees (some would need to be baked or could even be grilled) Regular meatballs w/sauce and veg Turkey meatball w/sauce and veg Halibut and veg (no cheap gross fish lol) Cajun halibut and veg Breakfast Protein crepe and egg Scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage Scrambled eggs and turkey bacon or sausage Protein waffle (toaster) and egg Cheese/veggie/meat omelets Greek Yogurt Parfaits low sugar with fruit I just have a ton of foods wracking my brain!!!

    Why is Bread so Bad?

I just found a ton of recipes on Pinterest using wonton wrappers for mini tacos, pizzas, etc...I'm so going to try them

    Why is Bread so Bad?

I have had some crackers and some toast, but any bread still sits in my stomach and feels like a rock.
  19. I am a month out and still haven't had a period. I'm hoping that eventually things will right themselves because my main motivation for having the surgery was to start a family!

    Soup

If it is more broth I feel I can eat more. If there are any veggies/protein in it I can eat a few spoonfuls.

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

Mmm I looked at the menu...anyone want to split a turkey cheddar panini lol...we could get the pesto on the side of you want it. I would more than likely eat the insides but I love warm sandwiches

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

Sounds fun! I am putting on my calendar
  23. I tried toast and it sits like a lump in my stomach...no point in eating it
  24. Could you have been allergic to anything at the hospital? When I had cellulitis I couldn't even touch the area without terrible pain... If it doesn't clear over the next 24 hours or gets larger in size quickly, I would call dr asap. Have you tried any antifungals or antibiotic creams? The week after surgery, I ended up with a yeast infection under my boobs. It wasn't itchy, just painful from rubbing under my bra

When you can't even be honest with yourself

I wasn't going to tell people at first, but now I'm blogging it, and I tell most people I meet. Going out to dinner with people is easier to explain why I'm eating so little and why I usually just eat a few bites off my hubby's or sisters plate.
