    Guy's any regrets?

Only regret is waiting so long to have it! Only 10 weeks out and life has completely changed for the better. I feel like I am on the right track health-wise. It's crazy what a little weight loss will do for your confidence. There have been many times when I thought, was this the right decision? Like one other poster mentioned, your relationship, or in my case "love affair" with food completely changes. But, its probably a good thing. For me it definitely was a good thing. You will still be able to enjoy things, just in much smaller amounts. Hope you are recovering well and best of luck on your journey!

To tell or not to tell...

Once my surgery was scheduled, I kept it to immediate family, close friends, and those at work who needed to know. Your surgery is your decision, just like its your decision on who to tell and who "thinks" they need to know. Like others have said, I kept mine on the down low until after I was recovered and healthy. There are ways to sneak around the response of "i had WLS"...but at a certain point I felt it was too much work. I wasn't ashamed of having surgery. I look at it in a positive manner. It is a life long tool for me to use to stay healthy. Plus, people will speculate anyway if you tell them you've lost 70lbs in 10 weeks like I have lol. So in short, it's your choice. Just like any other surgery, illness, etc. Don't feel obligated to tell anyone that you don't want to. Good luck with your surgery and I wish you the best of health and recovery!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi All! I am new to the forum and was sleeved on December 18th by Dr. Almanza at Hospital Jerusalem in TJ, MX. I am 8 days post op today and feel great! I had a few friends who had the surgery about a year ago and had a complete opposite experience than myself. I have been pain free since I woke up from the anesthesia and have had no issues with keeping anything down. I'm a 27yr old male, 6'2" with a starting weight of 341. Currently, I am down 23 lbs from my initial preop weight (13 lbs since the morning after surgery). I was originally scheduled for 12/19 but when I arrived for my pre-op blood workup, they had an opening so I took it! I ended up doing a 6 day pre-op liquid diet. I can honestly say that I did not have any issues or difficulties with it. I think I was mentally at a point where I was ready. It was a complete mind over matter type thing for me. Anywho, I look forward to reading all about your individual experiences and good luck to those who are still scheduled to be sleeved! If anyone would like to know specifics about the MX experience, please dont hesitate to send me a message!
