Kiap82 got a reaction from RJ'S/beginning in Over 300 pounds, when did you notice a difference?
I can't wait for all of these things! I have been avoiding booths for 5 years, in a seatbelt extender for longer, and have to take a brake between the flights of stairs in my town home.

Kiap82 got a reaction from ElliottWasHere in 4 random post-op questions
Well I'm sure that everyone could answer these questions differently but here's my take:
    1. There wasn't really pain when I very first woke up but over the next couple hours just general soreness. I only asked for pain medicine twice while in the hospital for 30 hours.
    2. Nope, nakey, nakey.
    3. They will help you get there. Using it wasn't as hard as I expected, just lower and raise slowly.
    4. Use yours ARMS!! And support your abs with a pillow. And use you back muscles more, but they get sore so I like my heating pad. And don't BEND OVER to pick things up unless you have to. If so go very slowly.
Yours may be totally different but that's mine.

Oregondaisy- I have used all of the sites at one point or another. I have had the best luck with POF but it's more work that the others. I call it dumpster diving because you have to sort through a lot of trash to find anything worth possibly keeping. Match.com works well for a lot of people, but I think that at 300 pounds I was too heavy for most of the men and what they were looking for. When I am thinner I plan on maybe trying it again. OK Cupid is interesting and tells you a lot about the person but all those people are on POF or Match too so I think it's kind if a waste of time.
If you want to, make it clear to him that you will have separate rooms, maybe even in different hotels. Always meet somewhere, never let them pick you up. The one nice thing about not being at home is you don't have to let them know where you live. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I generally don't let anyone know where my house is until after the third or fourth date. A girl has to be careful these days!

First of all - right now in Florida - it's still 100% illegal, not even medical use. I've never touched it or hung out with people that did it. Yes I was a up tight nerd in high school and then again in college but that's a different story.
I think that people will smoke it regardless of legal status. People drank when it was illegal - between under age drinking and prohibition era drinking. Unfortunately prohibition lead to moonshine and if that isn't done right there are really bad consequences. I say make pot legal. Let the government regulate it, tax it, etc. I think it's less toxic to the body than cigarettes. Make similar laws regarding drinking apply to pot - DUI, workmans comp, etc. Also, I think this should free up a lot of our jails for marijuana related crimes. If police don't have to worry about pot, they can focus on bigger issues and save the taxpayer some money.

I live in Denver and although most if what you have stated is accurate there are some things that I could clear up for you. Colorado legalized pot for several reasons.
    1. To tax the hell out of it and give the money to the school system.
    2. To regulate it so people got what they paid for and nothing laced or fake or anything like that. Buying pot in the street can be dangerous and you don't know what you are getting.
    3. Pot tourism looks to bring a lot of money to Colorado. People with out of state drivers licenses can not buy as much as a state resident but they can come to Colorado and purchase and enjoy.
Also, pot may not be consumed openly on the streets it in public areas. It may be consumed on your property or in privately owned businesses where NO alcohol is served. Don't think you come to Denver and see people hitting bongs while they walk down the street.
The state has also imposed high driving laws similar to drunk driving laws. You are not allowed to smoke while driving or be high. They pull you over and test you.
No where in the street is pot $25 an ounce. People currently pay more on the street for the same pot you buy with a medical card because someone had to go but it first then sell it to you. So the cost will likely go down for consumers purchasing it legally.
I am not a regular pot smoker. I have smoked it on occasion for recreational purposes but since I am only 15 days post op I will wait until I am feeling a little better to try it again. I support all peoples opinions on this matter but have found that most people who oppose recreational pot have never smoked it.

I think they ought to legalize pot if alcohol is legal. Not much difference.....except pot has zero calories.

I just talked to my doctor about this same issue. She asked what I did yesterday (when it started) and I told her I just picked up my living room, cleaned up all the dog toys, organized my pantry, and unpacked from Christmas. It was less than two hours of activity!! She scolded me and said that 12 days out I should be resting, not cleaning and that I had pulled on my stitches. She said to take my pain meds and sit my ass down for then next couple days! I'm so bored, but at least the pain will keep me settled for a while. She said it could take up to a week to go away!!!!
