  1. Hey! Good to see you! How are you doing?
  2. I'm 8 weeks out and do water aerobics three times a week.
  3. I am 8 weeks out and 31 years old. I couldn't be happier about the decision to have this surgery. I debated it for 2 years since I am cash pay but it's been worth every penny. HW 320, SW 313, CW 275. I have been over weight my whole life and am finally going to be able to live life to the fullest!!! My doc released me to all foods at 6 weeks and I have had no problems. I work out 5 days a week, eat 900-1000 calories a day with 80+ Grams of Protein. Had one stall that lasted a week at seven weeks. Only thing I have trouble with is getting my Water. But I do the best I can. I wish I had done this when I was 21 instead of 31.
  4. I so 2 days a week with a trainer, three days a week of 1 hour of cardio, and 2 days of power walking on days I do the other stuff. I take Saturday and sunday off.
  5. I work as a patient counselor and surgery scheduler for a large group of LASIK and cataract surgeons. I used to manage an entire practice but took a step back after surgery to spend more time on me. Best decision I ever made.
  6. I am EXACTLY where you are, but just 10lbs behind. SW 313 CW 277. scale hasn't moved in over a week. I'm so frustrated too. I thought maybe it was cause I am working out but I don't want to stop doing that. I'm getting my 80 grams of Protein and 64oz of Water. I'm 31 and been overweight my whole life. Maybe my body doesn't want to be thin?! What are you doing for protein, water, and exercise? Maybe we can figure this out together!
  7. I used to live in Texas and had already started investigating it back then. Also, self pay in Denver is more like 17,000 so it was way cheaper to do it in Texas.
  8. My insurance had an exclusion so I paid 12,200 for the surgery and another 2000 in travel expenses to Texas, vitamins, and everything else. Good thing is it was all tax deductible!
  9. That was a great article. I guess I'm lucky I went 7 weeks without a stall. I'm scared to try the calorie shock cause I don't want to gain. I'm gonna try to up my water intake to make sure I flush everything out as I can tell from my breath I'm in ketosis. Lol
  10. Thanks. I needed to hear all of this. I just worry that at 31 years old with almost all of them being obese that my body won't let me get thinner. But I know that if I'm patient and keep at it it has to work. It has to. It's crazy that you think I'm strict mommysonadiet. I feel like I'm must be too loose in the rules if the weight is not coming off. I'll just keep telling myself, this too shall pass. Do any if you think it would be a good idea to up the workouts to five or six days a week? What about upping the water to 80-90 ounces?
  11. I believe I have met my first stall. I'm 7 weeks out and down 35 pounds from SW of 313 on 12/17. I track my weight daily and have seen sort of a down hill roller coast over the last month and a half. Lose two, gain one, no gain, lose two, etc. But I have now been stuck with in a pound of 277 for 10 days. I work out 4 times a week. Two with a trainer and two cardio days in my own. I also walk about 4 miles a week and trying to increase that. My calories are around 875 a day and I'm getting at least 80 grams if Protein and usually less than 30 grams of carbs. Is there something I'm missing? I know these stalls happen but was hoping in some advice to jump start the weight loss again.
  12. I cook up a pound of Jennie O ground turkey sausage and use it through the week. A slice of low fat cheddar cheese mixed in the meat then microwave for 45 seconds. Add a dollop of light sour cream and some salsa. Delicious in two minutes.
  13. Depends on if your doc does a tethering stitch. I couldn't sleep on my sides or stomach for 4 1/2 weeks til that stitch popped. Way too painful.
  14. Are you sure you can shower and swim with your force? I don't believe they are water proof.
  15. Try mixing it in with a protein shake.
  16. I get 80+ grams of protein a day so I hope I don't need more. But I've noticed other changes too. My face is clearing up and skin tone is evening out so that is a good thing. My breath is awful. I've had a constant TOM for 2 weeks now. Sorry if tmi. But I guess I didn't realize all of the changes my body is going through 7 1/2 weeks out.
  17. Yes!! I could go three or four days and it would be fine. Now it's nasty after 36 hours!!!

I am also signed up for a color run. Mine is in Riverside, CA in three weeks!! I'll only be 11 weeks out from surgery but have been making pretty good progress with endurance and strength. I plan on power walking it as I'm still to heavy to actually run but I am excited none the less. Since it is out of state it will also be my first time on a plane since surgery and I'm hoping I won't have to use the extender for the first time in years!!!
  19. I'm seven weeks out. Sleeved 12/17. Also have slowed in weight loss. Slowed to a crawl at this point. What are you currently doing/getting in exercise and food?
  20. I am wearing smaller pants sizes but when I measure my waist doesn't ever get any smaller. How is that possible?
  21. HW 320 12/3/13 SW 313 12/17/13 CW 275.8 Creeping down, but happy it's creeping.
  22. The only places I have found it is SAMs club or costco. I bought a SAMs membership just for the premier shakes.
  23. I have the same problem. I usually get 40-50 a day but so sometimes can get more. A lot of nights I drink a huge cup of hot decaf peppermint tea. It seems to go down more easily than cold beverages for some reason.
  24. I average about 40 per day but that's just because all I ever eat is protein. My nut said not to worry about it too much because I need the energy for my work outs. She told me not to let the carbs get above the protein so I wouldn't eat more than 80 since that's how much protein I eat daily.
