  1. Day 4 post-op and just got out of the shower. Dressed and ready to go out and tackle the day. I think some retail therapy is just what the doctor ordered!

  2. Yesterday was my six weeks after sleeve surgery check up. Doctor said I had already lost 22% of my bmi. He said they usually want you to lost at least 29% within three months. I was so excited. My clothes are falling off and l love shopping now. The thrifts stores and consignment shops have become my best friend. I feel better that I have felt in years. I'm thankful for the sleeve.

  3. Slow and steady wins the race! 8 weeks out, 25 pounds down! :)

  4. I find it less helpful to hear about the journey of somebody who's under 250 and having the surgery. I've seen so many people just under 200 pounds having the surgery and I am horrified. I guess everybody's journey and reasonings are different. It just seems like such a drastic surgery and if I were 200 pounds I would be thankful… At least this point my life. But just to lose 50 pounds, I have a hard time wrapping my head around it.

Maybe suggest a new forum? I personally have learned from all forums and don't find that the type of surgery makes much difference. As far as heavier people I get jealous on how fast they drop the weight but eventually they will be where I am ;-p

Most are people that have already prepared months for surgery. Including work with counseling and nutrition. In this year of prep I only lost 18 lbs. It depends on your own experience. If you have high blood pressure, knee and back pain, sleep apnea, etc you may change your mind. My highest weight was 248 and at time of surgery it was 228. Even at 207, I need to lose more to ease every day pain besides wanting to be in better health and be the best I can be. It might seem drastic surge...

I went thru a long process to get the surgery and was ready to jump off the surgical table and run. I agree about the pros and cons. I was one of the people that believed weight drops easily. Depends on the person really. It drops but it takes work. I have always had trouble loosing weight and knew I needed this tool.
