I am 43 years old and haven't been my "ideal weight" since I was 29 years old. My ideal weight is the one where I feel good about myself, want to exercise and live an active lifestyle, and enjoy my social life without worrying about my weight. I have had various successes with lifestyle modification (diet and exercise), but ultimately, fall back into my old, bad habits. I am looking forward to having the surgery as a tool in my weight loss arsenal. I know that it will not fix what is wrong in my head, but it will help me cope with food intake while I have time to work on the other. Tomorrow is surgery day. I am ready. I am nervous. I am excited. It's time for a change.
