  1. I am doing real good on the mushies. I have discovered Egg Beaters. They are really pretty good. I usually eat some form of fish everyday. I am not a big fish fan, unless it is fried catfish. But I found that fish goes down real easy. Next week I go on solids. I am a little afraid. Has anyone gone on solids after just one week of mushies. Don't get me wrong, I am happy. A little scared. Has anyone else gone on solids after just 1 week of mushies?
  2. It just upsets me to no end when a doctor tries to push bypass. The lapband is not that invasive and less complications. Plus he does not have to cut and rearrange your insides. This is your body and your life. I recommend finding another doctor that will have your best interest at heart. I have had my band since August 27th. I have lost 25 pounds and could not be happier. Consider getting a second opinion.
  3. The word I hate the most is "obese". Sounds like an ugly animal. After 3 hip replacements in less than a year, I filed for social security disability. After nearly a year and 2 rejections, I hired an attorney. We had a hearing after several months. There was a doctor, a vocation specialist there and the judge. The dr. said that due to my multiple surgeries and my inability to stand, sit or lift, and MY OBESITY, I could not work. Thank God he was on my side!!!!
  4. I had the same problem with the diarrhea too. Dr. told me I may have become lactose intolarant. I got some of the lactose free milk and it seem to help.
  5. yes, I am having trouble getting as much liquids as I should. In fact, I have been battling a bladder infection for 2 weeks and am on my secnd round of antibotics. I know it is because I am not drinking enough water.
  6. Which is the hardest for you? Head hunger or physical hunger? For me I think it is head hunger!!! Sometimes, I have the nibbles and nothing I can do will take my mind off food. I can ignore my tummy growling for food though. Even DH is watching me like a hawk. He caught me trying to nibble(on healthy stuff) and he could hardly yell at me because his mouth was full of peanuts!!! I just asked him if he was enjoying the peanuts.:eyebrows::faint:
  7. Good luck. Will be looking for your post when you feel up to it.
  8. They told me to wear no make up. They also told me to have no hair spray on my hair. Believe me. You won't care if you have make up on or not!!!
  9. Beachgirl---That is wonderful. Keep us posted on the first one to be born and also on the twins. I have twin granddaughters in Houston. They will be 7 this December and they are the light of my life. They are not identical. One is blonde and the other has brown hair. Congrats and keep me posted.
  10. Chinokitty----CONTRATS!!!!!! That is great news. Keep up the good job!!!!
  11. First day on mushies and I am worried. This is what I had today. Breakfast--oatmeal, 1 cup coffee lunch--tuna dinner--1 salmon pattie and 1/2 baked potato. I did not even eat the whole potato. The thing I am worried about is I had dinner 4 1/2 hours ago and still am not hungry. Does that mean that I over ate???? I am worried. I never did throw up or any thing like that. Everything went down real good and stayed down real good. Did I over do it?????
  12. Laura---There is a saying; "What goes around, comes around". And believe it, because I have seen it time and time again. I wish you could run into your "friend" some day and causually say to her "What happened to you"!!!! I don't care what anyone says, revenge is so very sweet!!! Hang in there girl. You are doing good.
  13. It is my official first day on mushies. I am a little worried that I over did it for dinner. This is what I ate today: Breakfast---oatmeal, 1 cup coffee lunch---tuna dinner--salmon pattie and half baked potato. I am worried I over ate at dinner. I had dinner at 6 p.m. I was very full. It is 10:30 p.m. and still full. Should I be feeling like this, or is it because I overate at dinner. :angry
  14. Today was my official day for mushies. Today I had oatmeal for breakfast. Lunch was tuna. Very, very good. Dinner was salmon patty and half baked potato. I really think I over ate and I am a little worried. I should not ate the whole salmon patty and perhaps skipped the potato. I promise to do better tomorrow.:car:

  16. Thanks Kacee and yes, I do like cottage cheese. Someone also suggested a baked potato(minus the sour cream and butter). So, I will enjoy the mushies. I really did have to struggle to get this far.
  17. I think you should get some pointers from your doctor. Perhaps when you feel like your blood sugar is dropping, sip on some apple juice. But, I think you should discuss with your doctor. I am sure he has dealt with this before with others in the past. Good luck.
  18. I started mushies today. I have had scrambled eggs, chicken casserole zipped to death in a blender and now I am eating cream Soup. The problem is that I am sooooooooo very hungry and scared to death of going overboard. I made egg salad with a little mayo, relish and dash of salt. But, I cannot have bread or crackers and I am thinking "WTF!!! What do I do with it now". I am honestly afraid of eating too much of the mushies. This is what I know I can have: scrambled eggs, egg salad, tuna, oatmeal . Ok, than what else. I have been looking forward to mushies and now I am not satisfied. I just hope that I can look back on this miserable time in 4 months and say "It was worth it". For now, I am scared, miserable and hungry.:help::think:think:think
  19. Dear Elizabeth, Hang in there. You can do it. I was about 12 days after I got my band that I got so hungry, I could have chewed by leg off. Thank goodness it was just one day. Be sure and have a protein drink. It helps to make the hunger go away. Hang in there!!!
  20. I did not get hungry until about 2 weeks after my surgery. Then one day, i thought I would chew off my leg. It was a miserable day. Then next day, I was able to keep it under control. Thank God above, I was able to go on mushies just a few days later. Count your blessings; but I have a feeling you will feel the hunger pains sooner or later.
  21. I was supposed to start mushies tomorrow. My daughter, son inlaw and two precious twin granddaughters were here for the week end. I decided to start mushies one day early. I had scrambled eggs for breakfast. Everything went down and stayed down. For lunch, we had chicken enchilida casserole. I put some in blender and ate a little. Everything went down and stayed down. I am now boiling eggs for egg salad. Life is looking up!!!!:clap2: I have the satisfied feeling finally. Certainly not too full. I did not want to get too full. For one thing, every adult at the table was watching me, thinking I was on the brink of failure!!!! Ha, I showed them.

  23. Tulip---I had a dream while I was on liquids that I ate a sandwich. You need to have a talk with hubby. My husband is very, very supportive. While I was on liquids, so was he. Not once did he eat in front of me, and also, we have not cooked anything since all of this started. Tell hubby that if he wants to help you, he should be supportive and understanding. Hang in there. You can do this.
  24. Loupoohmu--Where is the resale shop for plus size in Dallas. I live in the DFW area and might be interested.
  25. musical---Don't be so hard on yourself. I think you are doing terrific. And I am sure you look great too. Some people do not have the sense God gave a goose!!! Try to ignore the remarks; I know I would been hurt too. But think on the positive side and see all the improvements you have made in your life. I just hope and pray that when I am 3 months out, I will be 50 less than I was. Keep up the good work.
