  1. I'am glad to here that everyone is doing great. I weighed per op 266, I ate anything I wanted and as much as I wanted so I could get it out of my system. I started my liquid diet at the end of May and had my surgery on July 29,13 starting weight was 242. I'am down to 199 as of Dec 18,13. I had no problems thru my surgery and recovery. Had it done on Monday morning and out on Wed., morning. I didn't have and vomiting until I started eating real food, high fat ground meat, steak, pork chops, scrambled eggs, and bread. So far I haven't had a stall I guess I've been lucky, and my Dr., doesn't want me weghing except at his office so that I wont get discouraged if I don't lose anything. I don't even own a scale to weigh on. I'm wearing a 18 jeans, and a large tops where I was wearing 3 x's and w 24-26's. Happy New Years here's hoping for all of us a healthier year .
  2. I have never regreted my decision for surgery. I had health problems diabeties which was uncontrolled, high blood pressure, my triglicerides were over 1000, osto arthritis, fibromyalgia, and syringomyelia. Since my surgery my blood sugars are controlled with one insulin pen rather than the 3 I was using. I haven't had any pain eating or drinking, now if I eat something very dense like ground meat, steak, pork chops, scrambled eggs. They come up when I eat them, I am under 200 lbs., for the first time in over 30 yrs., I was able to wear a size 18 jeans and large top ,before I was wearing 3 x's.I wouldn't change a thing I've been thru for any thing. Good luck and God Bless everyone.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Sweetjoy you need a bottle with a top, a timer as you will have to drink every 10 min., also I took crystall light or other types to go in water as long as it is sf. I had my sleeve done on July 29,13. I had it done in Tyler, Texas @ Trinity Mother Francis, I went in on Monday morning andhad the surgery @ 9am after I was back in my room that afternoon I was walking upand down the hallway. The more you move around the gas will dissapate and you wont be in a lot of pain.My pre op diet was liquid for 3 weeks but I had a lot of medical problems and they wanted my liver to shrink it macls it easier on the Dr to operate. Be sure to take your vitimins, a complete vitamin, vit.b12, calcium d3, complete vit.b complex very important. I got to go home on Wed. morning, I have had a very good recovery, I feel better than I did feel it'd amazing, I am under 200 for the first time in over 30 yrs. WTF?

My Dr. told me he didn't want me weghing only at his office. He said that way I wouldn' get discouraged if I had a weight gain.
  5. I was with family at our favorite mexican resturant, where I ordered my favorite spinach qesidia. I ate 2 small slices and in a matter of min., had to make a mad dash ti the bathroom where it was full ti throw up. I was so embarrased. So I wont be eating my favorite dish anymore.
  6. Get your gallbladder checked out, I had similar problem only thing different was the pain was onupper left sude and went all the way around ti the middle of my back. I couldn't sit down laydown all I could do was walk up and down the sidewalk. Turned out it was my gallbladder I had 34 gallstones in there I told the Dr I wanted to see what was causing that pain. After surgery no more pain.

    Throwing up

Have you tryed eating with a baby spoon and chew 23 times before you swallow your food. I have been lucky I guess because the only time I throw up is if I eat something that my stomach can't handel.ie ground meat with high fat content, steal, pork chop, and scrambled eggs. I can eat bacon, ham, sausage, fried eggs, boiled eggs, deviled eggs, go figure how someones stomach works. I'm also on omeprazole.
  8. I had my sleeve done July29,13, after surgery I had to force myself to drink the broth and jello. It took me all day just to eat half of the jello.I just wasn't hungry, now at almost 5 months out I still have to remind myself to eat, it's so different now than before I stayed hungery all the time, I hope it staysthis way for good.
  9. Thaf's fantastic, I was sleeved on July 29,13. I am 57 and since my surgery I have lost a total of 69 lbs., I am under 200 lbs., now it's been over 30 yrs., since I was. I am so excited I have to keep encouraging my self not to sabatoage myself like I have all ways done.I am an emotional eater and my food of choice is sweets.
  10. Mindi Jean How long has it been since you had your sleeve, I had mine July 29,13. Whats crazy is I can eat bacon, sausage, ham, chicken, and turkey, also boudan sausage. Go figure.
  11. Terri Lynn 383837796 I know it's crazy my family tells me I must be sick because I used to freeze everyone . Does anyone have trouble eating ground meat, steak, pirk chops?
  12. I'm not trying to cause any drama, if I came off sounding like I was I apoligize to everyone because that was'nt the case. I was just saying that Dr.'s in different places have different protacals that they go by.
  13. Me1071 I am happy that you can use a straw, but my Dr. told me no straws, and no carbinated water. It may be that our Drs. are in different areas in the country. My Dr., is in Tyler, Texas. Gmanbat it doesnt get super cold here in Lufkin, Texas the coldest its gotten so far is29 degrees. We have a lot of humidity here, so its a damp cold.
  14. MCButterpants I too am scared I have 0 control over certain sweets, and chips. I can't stop at just one true I can't eat very much its knowing its there waiting. I have lost a total of 69 lbs, post op I am now under 200 lbs, for the first time in 30 yrs. We just have to encourage each other and contiue our new journey.
  15. I am 5 months out, I accidentially drank from a straw and boy oh boy did it remind me not to do it again, I wad sick as a dog my stomach hurt utill I started to throw up after the third time I fianially started feeling better. No more straws for this girl not worth it. Does anyone else get cold easier than before the sleeve.
  16. I too will not bash anyone for doing them same thing that I an guilty of doing. I was bad to myself by eating a tiny bite of pink lemonade pie it was yuckkie I used to love it could eat most of it by myself. Where I could be in trouble is the tiger fudge, its not very rich and I have always loved it, I reconciled myself by saying it has peanut butter in it which is a form of protein so it shouldnt hurt to eat it. Wrong wrong wrong!!! For me its not good if I could just take a small bite and call it a day maybe , but I want to eat a whole peice several times a day. I cant eat very much because my stomach wont let me its knowing its in there.
