  1. Hello Sweety! I was banded 8-1-07 by Dr. Wright, here in San Antonio. I am a lifelong resident. Retired, widow, 63 years old, longtime diabetic and a bk amputee x 2 years. I interviewed last year with another surgeon who would not entertain giving a band and more or less told me it was "too risky" (his M.O, I find). I began his screening process and my last clearance was with my cardio doc. I wound up having surgery for triple cardiac bypass--not gastric!! Cardiac Surgeon and cardio doc both assured me I should seek wt loss surgery in about a year. In that year I decided I did not want my "gut cut" and began looking into lapband. Upon several recommendations, I decided on Dr. Wright and so far have been extremely happy with my decision. I will see him on Monday 8-13 for my first follow-up. So glad to find other S.A. banders. I love all ethnic cuisines and hope I can still partake of some of these further down the road! cindy girl
