I am getting better with the back pain now. My husband has been a saint and took the week off of work. I don't know how people do this recovery thing on their own. My heart goes out to anyone doing this on their own. You are stringer than I. We've been surviving on the use of heat pads on my back and I've had to borrow a reclining chair to sleep in. I couldn't bear laying in my bed. Now I'm on to gas pain, but my incision pain has decreased. Best of luck to those that just had the surgery. Now I'm off to take small sips of water and protein shakes! every sip is painful. Baby steps!

Just had VGS surgery yesterday. I'm in a lot of pain. Did anyone else have back pain? How can I get rid of it? How did you position yourself to sleep or rest and night and during the day?

My surgery is scheduled for Jan 13th, 2014, as well! Good luck! I'm nervous, but excited.
