  1. A week and half post-op. Go to see my surgeon in the morning. I've done really well other than some Constipation issues. I am getting my protien in every day in 2 shakes, but can't hold much more than that. I am on the soft diet stage 2 since Sunday, but can't get much down. No pain, just not much room. A couple of bites is all. If I weren't drinking my Protein I'd never get it in. I guess I will end up going through the stages like most sleevers.

  2. Just got sleeved a little over a week ago. I've always been hot natured wearing shorts and tank tops around the house REGARDLESS of the season. Since surgery, I am wearing Spanx under my jeans and tops and have fuzzy throws on every piece of furniture in case I sit down there. Outdoors I broke out my fleece liined suede coat with hood and matching ugg boots. They were a gift several years ago that I was never able to wear because they were too hot. I don't dare go out without them, now. Even on warm days I have been pretty bundled up. It's been a weather roller coaster here in SW VA.

  3. @butterflyladi - I hope I spelled that correctly. I had my surgery on 1/22/14. I stayed two nights int the hospital due to an unpleasant reaction to the morphine that was given. By the time I came home on 1/24/14 I was down a total of 15 lbs from the pre op diet and surgery. Since I have been home I have gained 1.6 lbs. I do not understand why. I am on full liquids, getting all of my Water in, stopped pain meds completely two days ago. I have not yet had a BM, but I guess my body doesn't feel the need to eliminate anything yet even though it has been over a week. I have also hear dramatic weight loss stories from my friends 13 lbs the first week after surgery. I eke thinking what am I doing wrong.

I was up 1.5 lbs. because of not having a bm. Drinking Protein can cause it as well as taking Calcium. Try some Miralax and Glycerin suppositories. It is amazing how full your colon becomes in a week even on liquids. I am feeling MUCH better.

  4. If you are not ready to share WHY, just share WHAT. " I had stomach surgery and don't eat much anymore". If you aren't comfortable saying it's wls don't. If he asks just tell him you don't want that conversation to be how you remember your first date. Maybe another time. Let's get real. We live in a food driven society. That's how we all got here. Just control the situation and keep it in YOUR comfort zone. Eat your normal routine and keep conversation flowing on other topics. The more normal you make it, the easier he will accept it as normal.

  5. I have a spine problem that makes walking tough (spondylolisthesis grade 2). My leg goes dead not long into walking. I have been riding my bike in effort to exercise without compressing the leg nerve. My hubby got me the indoor trainer for my bike so I can ride stationary until it is warm enough to get back outside. I am in hopes I will be able to start that soon.

  6. You sound just like me. I had a terrible time with my kidneys/bladder. I still have more difficulty than normal but it is much better than after surgery on Monday. My colon was slow to respond as well. Everything seems to be working now, but my body was definitely traumatized. I just hope it doesn't mean I will have a lot of Hair loss. I am taking Biotin and zinc to prevent it as well as eating Jello.< /p>

  7. Just remember your hormones are in a twist and are having to adjust to your new body. Also be aware that you are WAY more fertile than normal because of this. Your chances of becoming pregnant triple for the fist 18 months after surgery (according to an info session held by the hospital I went through). If you are late... take a test. If it is negative just relax, it is normal to go through adjustments. ;-)

  8. I just found out I'm having a sleeve revision in two weeks. Do you feel a difference with your appetite diminish? My band has been empty for two months and I really have felt my appetite increase lately. I think my tummy was swollen from the Fluid and has since finally relaxed and my appetite is through the roof! Also, I getting really nervous after reading on the threads about heart burn, stomach spasms, and acid hunger pains post surgery. If someone could just answer some of these and help calm my butterflies. I'm very excited but super nervous.

I had surgery in Monday. I am taking prevacid and nexium since Wednesday. In between I had a gnawing pain like hunger but more intense. That has gone away with the meds. I am sure that is what you are hearing about. There is no reason to suffer with it though. If your doc doesn't perscribe it just buy otc products to take on a regular schedule. Don't wait for symptoms to appear before treating. These drugs must build up in your system to work properly. As for hunger.... none!! The commercials that used to make me drool have no effect now! You will do great. I am doing fantastic, and I am the biggest baby in the world! Lol. This site has been a lifesaver! You can ask anything without embarrassment or feeling dumb. Everyone is wonderful and understands because they are just like you!!
