Gluttonous PIG!
Are you confusing hunger with acid maybe? That happens quite ofter. There were times in the beginning I thought I was hungry, but it didn't make sense - I had just eaten or maybe I just had a shake, so I shouldn't feel hunger. You may want to talk to your doctor - he may tell you to try an acid reducer or a proton pump inhibitor. I find if I feel hunger when I don't think I should, it goes away with an acid reducer. I get that same feeling, but its generally gas or thirst for me. It is exactly like painfully hunger I felt pre op. Try upping fluids.

So would guacomole be considered edible during the stage 2 liquids, along with mashed potatoes and refried beans? (obviously not at the same time)

Oddly emotional post op?
Anyone else in their first post op week feeling randomly emotional? Like I just had the intense urge to call my dad and weep. Not having regrets, no pain or even serious dicomfort and my boyfriend is taking excellant care of me, just felt like crying. I assume it the hormonal changes and most likely having to skip my BC for two in the hospital. Oh well, still happy to be on this side of the surgery!

Not bragging but.....
Surgery was on the 7th. Not a whole lot of pain, but I had nausea and then HORRIBLE hiccups. Finally home and just tired. I too am tolerating liquids well and am excited to keep the journey going! Glad you're recovering so smooth Belladonna.

Protein Shake Creativity
So I have found a way to make my protein shakes enjoyable!! Right now I am using the ON Gold Standard 100% Whey protein from GNC, the extreme chocalte flavor. I have figured out that if I add cinnamon, straight cocoa powder and a splenda it is DELISCIOUS!! Just wanted to share.

The girls are sad and deflated!
I had a friend who got a reduction and lift (obviously her boobs were far from deflated, so I don't know if that matters) but the inscians were underneath and really minimal once healed.

I am on day two of all liquids and I am losing it! I have no energy and I just want to start crying and then sleep for two days! This is really inconvienant since I am at work. Ugh is there anything I can do? I am drinking fluids in addition to my protein shakes and fiber supplements, I just don't know what to do I really feel terrible and like a total baby.

Interview for Grad School in less than an hour! Surgery this Monday!
Yeah, I am still very fresh in the game. I was an EMT and for hot second thought of becoming a doctor, but then after many long debates with myself and a passion for midwifery I decided it was the best route. Very cool that you worked in the ER, that’s what I would like to do once I get my license.

Calling all sushi lovers!

Attention Ladies Who Took Birth Control Pills
My doc has not told me to stop taking mine, I called yesterday to double check and am waiting for confirmation. I hope I can stay on it, I am on it for birth control reasons, and I do not want to play games with the post op fertility and really don't want to have to abstain completely either.... well we will see.

Post-op Pain Control? IV Tylenol? Not convinced.
Still pre op, but I know when I had my gallbladder out they had me on diluaded PRN.... I'm getting my VSG at the same hospital so I am hoping for something similar. I wasn't in severe pain, but it def took the edge off and helped me feel well enough to get up and move around, as well as allowing me to sleep when I wanted to. I will def be asking my surgeon about this at my pre op appt on Monday!!!

Hating my protein
Designer whey is pretty good in my opinion, but there's only 18g or Protein, Also The Atkins shakes arent too bad, but also not much protein, only 15g. The gian tub of protein I got for starting my liquid diet tomorrow, tastes not so wonderful, Im hoping blending and a little splenda will save the day. Good Luck!!!!

Sleeping with the enemy
I have this issue now, pre surgery LOL. Lately he has been putting a cover over him and the lap top so the light doesnt bug me. Honestly, invest in that sleep mask!! I use it nightly and it really helps.

Weight loss on 2 week diet
The possibility of that is one of the few things keeping me motivated on this pre op diet. Of course the intense fear of surgery and not wanting my liver to cause them to have to open me up is the biggest motivater. I can't wait to visit my future in laws so that I can use their scale LOL (and take it back to our apartment) LOL

Pre Op Diet Sensations ? ? ?
That def reminds me of my gallbladder attacks. Mine were right in the middle of my torso, and right over my stomach, near the liver. It made my back hurt. The attacks would come and go once a month or so until I thought I was having a pulmonary embolism or something. I would ahve it checked out if it persists, mine didn't always occur after a high fat meal.

Acanthosis Nigricans (dark skin in folds)
I was told by a dermatologist when I was 12 that it would go away at a normal weight (granted this man never once made the connection that it was PCOS so I was left undiagnosed for 10 years) I am still pre op, so that all I have, but I will say whenever I have lost weight it has lightened and when I gain weight it appears in new places..... I hope it leaves for good post op
