  1. One month ago I was laying on an operating table, changing my life. Today I am a total of 37 lbs down from my consultation weight. (15 of which I lost during pre op) I'm ecstatic. Boy have things changed over this short time. I don't regret a single second of it. I am so excited about what is to come, and my hope in myself has been renewed. This month has had it's fair share of hardships and I still find so many findamentals of my new life exceedingly challenging, but I'm working it out and obviously it's working. To all of my fellow newbies, we can do this! We ARE doing this!! Go Us!!!!!!!!!
  2. That is awesome, I wish you the best of luck with the weight and school!
  3. I guess I am apple shaped, as I look skinny from the his down (for the most part anyway, I started putting weight on there the last year or so) I have been loosing mostly from my waist and chest/shoulder area and my face. Not much has changed from my FOPA pouch, and I am coming to terms with probably having to get plastics to remove that. No good pictures yet and I'm only 35 down from my first consult weight. I'll try and upday as soon as I have pics. Good luck Lyn, you seem like you're doing great, 50lbs is awesome!!! Also, awesome that you're an OB nurse, I am going to nursing school next year and eventually plan for my masters in midwifery!
  4. Oh yeah, I totally agree about the fiber!! Just knowing my body I couldn't have more than a few a week. I really need to get some this weekend, I have been craving them and I know that I would be fine having that while my fiance indulges in a dessert.
  5. I am still on soft solids and I am not allowed rice and Pasta due to people generally not tolerating them. I am apparently allowed some whole grain bread and I think tortillas, but when I eat them it's just nausea for days. The sleeve is forcing me to stay as low carb as possible. Pintrest is a creat place to look for low carb alternatives.
  6. Dont get me wrong, I am more than happy with the restriction and the results I am seeing already. I also wasnt talking about eating a pizza. I'm talking about eating the amount given to me by my NUT and obviously healthy Protein. I am not mourning binge eating, I would just like to sit down to eat (because I need to eat to live) and enjoy what I am putting in my mouth instead of feeling like it's a termendous chore. I know it's early on, it was just frustrating me and I felt like venting. Thats all. Thanks for the responses.
  7. I would really just like to enjoy a meal. No matter what I do there is always a moment in eating where I am uncomfortable. I just ant to enjoy food again. It feels like a chore everytime I eat and right now I just feel bad about that and I am trying not to cry. It makes me not wat to try to eat at work, I just want to go home and sleep now. UGH
  8. Tried the Cinnamon Roll and Cookies and Cream quest bars over the weekend... SO AMAZING!! I am not a fan of how many actual carbs (I don't know if I believe in net carbs and I know my surgeon doesn't) they have, but I can def rationalize having one once a day or a few times a week as a treat.
  9. Possibly, but chilli is a long time favorite. It went away once the slime/ saliva stopped.
  10. Thank you for the response, I'm glad to know I am not the only one.
  11. At first I thought it was an allerig reation, but there is nothing in Chilli I am allergic too. Then I realized all of the slimey saliva coming up. ugh and Im at work!
  12. Has anyone ever had their throat/mouth get scratchy when sliming??
  13. This seems like the best IUD option for me ATM, just wondering what the sleeve community thinks about the device in general. Thanks everyone!!!
  14. How do you get in that much Fluid. Drinking is my number 1 demon. When did you start being able to get in that much fluid?? Also, Congrats. You look amazing and seeing your success is a huge inspiration!!
  15. This happened to me too right after surgery. I just wanted to weep like a small child for absolutely NO reason. Your hormones are confused, your body is traumatized and I have read losing weight will release more hormones. Hang in there and just rest. It'll get better!!!
  16. And now that I see my ticker, I mean 2 weeks and a few days. LOL. It feels like forever since surgery.
  17. We waited about 2.5-3 weeks for actual intercourse, My birth control go out of wack so I wanted to wait until I started a new pack. To be honsest though we fooled around 2 days after I got out of the hospital. 1 night away from me and my fiance acted like I had been gone for 6 months, it was too adorable to resist. Keep it simple and take it easy.
  18. I am on the soft solid phase right now (can be cut with a plastic fork), would quest bars be ok to introduce at this point?? I assume if I can eat seafood, and ground beef it would be ok....
  19. I too have hit that 3 week stall. I have lost 32 lbs including preop and havent lost anything in a week or so. I try and just stay calm and focus on getting my Water in (which is my biggest challenge) I have also taken a sabbatical from the scale.
  20. I wish I could eat a third of a burrito. I can't even finish a child sized hamburger patty (no bun obviously) I'm pretty sure my soft solid suggest amount is about 4 oz too, I just can't get 4 ounces of food down. 3 shrimp, or a couple bites of a burger this is what I can handle. If it was me, I would run it by my doc and see what their opinion is.
  21. I hope so, Thats my theory about why I used to be able to wear heels without a problem.
  22. Ok, so sometimes I am a little app stupid. Is there a way to configure my fitness pal to track protein only? Or is everyone using it at face value and checking the nutritional content???
  23. Refried beans and cheese- 12 g protein (1/2 cup of beans, 1/4 cup cheese)
  24. My boyfriend has been very supportive. I honestly dont care what he eats. Well I care and am completely on his ass about keeping to the diet he wants to be on, but on his cheat days I don't bat an eye lash. Luckily my lack of appetite has helped. I look at his food and yummmo, but have no real desire to touch it. I think you just need to stay strong, but if being around that bothers you, keep that line of communication open.
  25. I enjoyed my first two days of full liquids with mashed potatos and saltine crackers. The scale didnt change this morning, as it had every morning since I have been home, so I am takiing this a sign to stop and start hitting the protein hard. I stocked my fridge with Atkins protein shakes (not as much protein as I would like, but they taste amazing to me and go down better than water) last night. Had that for break fast and now my lunch ( slept in) is 1/2 a cup of fat free refried beans and some shredded mexican cheese blen totaling 12 g or protein. The games have begun!
