  1. I had a fill today in Ottawa, which was great total in band to date 6.5 cc and 61 lbs weight loss. The doctor mentioned that he is giving it some serious thought about doing the lap band surgery in Ottawa. I told he should as there is a large market here.
  2. had 5 including my port

  4. I am 50 and was banded on May 17 of this year
  5. Yes there is a doctor in Ottawa. I've got an appointment to see him on Tuesday. The cost of fills or defills is 75.00 a bargain compared having to go to Toronto for the day.
  6. His name is Dr. Gutauska on Broadview Avenue here is Ottawa
  7. I had a 3rd done last Thursday which brought me up to 7ccs, while I was in the office I was able to drink the 250 ml of water without any problems so after about an hour I left, got in a taxi and made my back to the airport to catch my flight from Toronto to Ottawa, while I was waiting for my flight I starting like I was going to be sick and it just got worse, I was up all Thursday being sick on my saliva nothing would go down. I eventually had to get my daughter to take me to the hospital where I was lucky enough to have a doctor that knew exactly what to do. He removed 1.1ccs and I felt better immediately better. Now a week later I am feeling little restriction so I am going for a fill probably .5cc on Tuesday. No one would every want to be in a position of feeling the way I did for those 24 hours. But all said and done I love my band.
  8. I was banded in Toronto the TLBC however, I was referred to a doctor in Ottawa that can do the fills for a fee of 75.00 which is way cheaper that having to fly to Toronto, plus taxi both ways total bill 350.00. I have appointment with the doctor here in Ottawa on Tuesday so that I have my fills done here.
  9. I am female, I am just amazed at how fast the weight if just melting off. I do have to admit I have completely rethought how and what I eat. I log everything I eat and exercise 3 times a week at Curves. I do have a total of 190 lbs to loose so I fully expect for the weight loss to slow down any time soon. But in the mean time I'll enjoy it.
  10. I just discovered this site yesterday and I'm very impressed with the amount of information there is. I was banded on May 17, 207 and including pre-op weight loss I am down 60 lbs:clap2:. Ask me if I'm happy about my band. :bounce: I am from Ottawa however, I had my procedure done in Toronto. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there from the Ottawa area.
  11. I'm 50 and was banded on May 17 and so far I have lost 60 lbs.
  12. I a from Ottawa and did have my surgery in Toronto, but just this week I did become aware of a doctor that is qualified here in Ottawa to do my fills. So instead of having to pay 300.00 for and an entire day lost I'll only have to pay 75.00 and about an hour of my time
  13. An example: Breakfast: 1/2 english muffin, 1tlbs each of jam and Peanut Butter and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. Lunch: a salad with 2 tlbs of low fat dressing and 2 oz of chicken. Dinner: 3 oz of steak, 1/2 cup of broccoli and if I have room 1/2 of noodles: snacks: 1 rice cake, 1 bonni bell lite cheese and 5 crackers. At this point I have had 6cc worth of fills and I think I maybe in my happy place for the time being.
  14. I just joined this site about 20 minutes ago and am very glad to the amount of support there is out there for us. You are not the only one that try to figure out the weight of clothing I try to remove as much as possible when I get weighed, or I choose the lighest weighing cloths I own.
  15. I had my surgery on a Thursday and returned to work on the following Monday. I had no pain at all associated with the procedure I went on like business as usualy. I even started exercising a week after. I think each of is different in how we heal.
  16. When I attended the post op seminar one of the 1st things they told us everyone is different some people will loose very quickly at first others may take longer until their body understands what is required of it. Don't dispare it will happen. It is still early days
  17. I just made an appointment for a consultation and 2 weeks later I was having the procedure done. It was painless. I had the procedure on a Thursday and I went back to work on Monday.
  18. I was banded on May 17, 2007 and so far I have lost 60 lbs. I never in my wildest dreams would have believed that I would have been this successful this early in the process. All I have to say is I love my band:clap2:
