I am three days out of surgery and all of my poop has blood in it! I called my Doctor and he told me to wait a few more days and if it has not gotten any better to come back and see him. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have lost 37#s since my surgery on 12/20/13. I am feeling great, have had no dumping at all. I have pretty much stuck to my 2 week post surgery diet, i did have a scrambled egg & 1 piece of toast this morning and had no problem eating it & I felt full after I ate!!! I meet with my Surgeon on Monday for my 2 week appt. Hope everyone had a great New Year! -

Everything is fine now, I havnt had anymore sign's of blood since the 2nd day after surgery. Thanks for your concernes! -

Thank you for the info. My doctor actually called me yesterday(Sunday) to check on me! He told me to wait a couple of days and if it still was red to come back in but this morning all was well and normall!!!'n -

It is blood red and no it does not look like coffee grounds. It has me worried! -

My Dr. Put me on Carnation Breakfast Essentials (sugar free) for my two week pre-op diet. 5 a day mixed with water except the one befor bed is with skim milk. They are not very tasty at all but I am now on day 6 and I seem to be doing ok. -

I'm on day 4 of my pre-op RNY diet and my headaches finally went away! I am on carnation instant breakfast (no sugar added) 5 shakes a day all mixed with water except for the last one which I mix with skim milk! I can also have SF jello & popsickles. -

I am having the RNY also. Both my Dr. And surgeon agreed it would be best for getting off of insulin. -

I agree. I am not having any 2nd thoughts at all! I am also type 2 diabetic and am going to try and get off of insulin and alot of meds. -

I started my two week diet yesterday(on my birthday) and will have my surgery December 19th! I have had no doubts at all! When you can't put your shoes on or quit breathing when I bend over it seems to wipe out any doubts that I have.
