  1. Great news!!! Take it easy when you get home.
  2. Sleeved on Dec. 31 HW. 232 SW 223 CW. 211
  3. I am 4 days out and feel fuller as the day goes by. I get to the point where I can't drink anymore. I am only getting about 32 oz of liquid now, but keep plugging away. Hang in there Jaime14.
  4. I was sleeved last Tuesday (4 days ago). I have two problems right now: a painful burn-like rash on my chest (not where the tape or incisions are) and a heck of a lot of gas. I suspect the rash was from when they put the sterilizing solution on - the rash is where there are folds of skin. Doc office told me to use hydrocortisone cream and it seems to help. I'm doing lots of walking )which helps with the gas), but when I sit down to drink something, the gas acts up. How long will this continue?
  5. M. Scott Peck wrote a book "In heaven as on earth" in which disabled people and overweight people were still like this when they got to heaven. Basically this was beause those people defined themselves by these factors, rather than being the beautiful people that they are. In the book, they had to work through these issues prior to entering heaven fully.
  6. I had the surgery and my stomach is also swollen. I believe that I do look pregnant. Hopefully, this will go away by the 13 th, when I back to work.
  7. WolfeCookie, I live in Plano and was sleeved on Tuesday (Dr. Cribbins) at Plano Presby. It went well & he plans to send me home this morning.
  8. My surgery went well. I had pain immediatly afterwards, but the morphine helped. I had two bouts of nausea. I passed the leak test and am trying out ice chips and then broth. So far so good!
  9. HW 232 SW 223 CW 223 (just had the surgery)
  10. I have had a pretty good experience so far - was slleved around 4pm yesterday. I had some pretty bad pain right after- they gave me morphine and it went away.
  11. Happy New Year! I was sleeved yesterda and am doung pretty well. I had some pain waking up and some nausea when I tried to walk around the room at one point. I slept well except for interruptions for vitals. Overall, its going pretty well. Happy New Year to everyone!
  12. I was sleeved yesterday (Dec 31, 2013) around 4pm. It went well. I had quite a bit of pain in my tummy as I woke up, but they gave me morphne and it was greatly reduced. I had a good night with the exception of some naeusea when I walked around the room. Will do the leak test today. I hope all the 30th and 31st sleevers did well!
  13. I'm also being sleeved today - at 1:30. Thanks for the good words, thinnatater!
  14. I'm getting sleeved tomorrow at 1:30. A million thoughts going through my mind right now. Good luck to everyone who is going in tomorrow.
  15. Agave nectar is a combination of fructose and glucose (types of sugars). It sounds like it doesn't bother your tummy to drink it, though.
  16. Thanks! That is very helpful.
  17. One other question - is there such a thing as fat-free/sugar-free pudding? I could only find one or the other.
  18. I'm getting sleeved Tuesday and have a questions about yogurt in a post-op diet. For those without chunks of fruit, I like lemon and lime - are they more acidic (could they cause more trouble than other flavors)?
  19. I am still pre-op, but it seems to me that this process, as extreme as it is, can be a journey of the mind to help you understand and manage your relationship with food. At least, I hope so.
  20. 15!!! In full disclosure, I took a bunch of theology classes at my Cathlic University. I consider myself a progressive Christian (like Jim Wallis)
  21. My goal is to lose 70 lbs. from my 232 lb starting weight.
  22. AtlantaRed, please add me to Dec. 31
  23. You look great! Congratulations.
  24. I am doing a very low fat, low calorie vegetarian pre-op diet and I have been complaining of the same things. I can't seem to get warm enough, but have been sleeping very well for 8 - 9 hours a night.
