  1. They are having me drink boost, but if we find alternatives that are equivalent in nutrition facts then they are ok. You are wanting a meal replacement drink for the pre op diet not just a protein shake.. Ask your doc if there are alternatives?
  2. My dr counts from my high weight when I started the program a year ago. And he said the more weight I lose before surgery is "money in the bank" and that the percentage of excess weight I should lose is calculated from my weight the day of surgery not my previous high weight. I had the same questions lol
  3. If I can't pass it naturally in a few days then they will do shock therapy. They are keeping me comfortable with pain meds now, all I wanna do is sleep lol.
  4. I'm having rny march 24th and was told I won't have a drain. Thankfully!
  5. I am in the ER having a stone attack. Omfg worst pain in my entire life. I have endured some pretty odd injuries but nothing like the pain of a kidney stone. I had my first one in October 2012, this is my second and I swear it hurts worse this time.
  6. I want to see that episode!!! Lol ugh
  7. I started watching Fat Doctor since it has full episodes on YouTube and it's a good alternative if you don't have TLC and can't watch my 600lb life. It does seem a little more graphic, the episodes I have watched are all open surgeries and they show a lot of the procedures. The surgeon was literally pulling out the "guts" and cutting them right before my very eyes!! (I tried closing one eye, but it didn't make it any less graphic lol) all in all good alternative.
  8. You have done amazing!!! You are literally Half of the old you! I plan on saving my favorite fat pants for comparison lol.
  9. I'm so excited my surgeon said I will NOT have a drain. Which I am thankful for because I will be home alone with little help.
  10. My reply was to MaryE, sorry. Lol
  11. Wow that is incredibly fast! Congratulations! Are you self-pay?
  12. Right because everyone who smokes marijuana is using it as a crutch? Because it has no medicinal properties what-so-ever? Get educated. Also not everyone is obese because of an addictive personality. Your hasty generalizations and ignorance is unwelcome.
  13. They had me fill out a questionnaire on a tablet asking about physical emotional abuse as a child and currently... Then she printed out my results and went talked about how I rated on a scale is 1-10 for anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I have all of the above but she wasn't worried about it, she said the majority of people do they just want to know how you are coping (not with food) or about your medications. Also she wanted to make sure I had a good support system. That took about 30 min and half was the questionnaire.
  14. Just left my surgeons office and they moved my date up! I was scheduled for April 9th now I am scheduled for march 24th. Liquid diet starts march 10th, so excited!
  15. Surgery is march 24, pre op diet starts march 10th
  16. I just left my surgeons office and he moved my date up to march 24th! I start pre op diet on march 10th!
  17. The best piece of exercise equipment for you, is something you will use. I started doing 33 min on the elliptical because that is all I could do and it something that I didn't dread but actually enjoyed using. Do something that you will come back and use again. The treadmill had too much impact for me to start and I could never get comfortable on a stationary bike.
  18. So thankful for insurance. I have to pay 0$, not a copay or anything. 100% covered. I wouldn't be able to have this surgery without it!
  19. I don't know what the nutrition facts are but I know people who eat the quest bars..
  20. That's a fantastic loss! I'm getting more and more anxious and excited each day I get closer to surgery!
  21. I did the in home sleep apnea test and my results were inconclusive so then I had to do the study in the "lab". I slept better there! Even with all the stuff hooked up to me in an unfamiliar place. They have a whole wing in a nice inn. I had like my own personal suite, they had us arrive at 5pm but lights out was 11 so we got to use the pool and sauna or we could hang out in our rooms and take a bubble bath, watch tv, or use the internet. They also provided breakfast on our way out in the morning after out showers. I kinda felt spoiled lol.
  22. Crockpot 4-bean vegetarian chili
  23. I have no idea, I've heard some surgeons recommend 50g or less a day and some say 100g or less a day, also I've read what she just stated above as well before.
