  1. You know I heard the same thing about poopable staples.
  2. I'm sure this will sound very bad to some people (oh well lol) but I did the night I got home from the hospital so 2 days after the surgery. It helped a lot with pains, gas and nausea. I only took maybe 2 hits at a time tho and small ones so I wouldn't cough. Im only 8 weeks out but i healed great and have lost 62 lbs so it didn't do me any bad. What a fantastic weight loss!!! Congratulations, and thank you for your honesty and openness :-P I'll be careful not to cough!
  3. Idk if I can drink them according to the directions
  4. Personally the band was never an option for me. I've seen so many people personally who have had complications with it. Come to find out my insurance provider will not even cover the band due to the amount of problems people experience. I was undecided between the sleeve and rny but eventually decided to go with the rny. Goodluck with whatever you decide! Whichever you choose will work if you work it!
  5. Regarding the topic that this thread was for before all the other nonsense lol I have been smoking for years and marijuana actually helps me a lot after surgery for nausea and very surprisingly I do not get the munchies at all! I was scared it would give me the munchies and I would pig out but that hasn't been the case at all. I definitely consider myself lucky it doesn't! How long did you wait after surgery to partake?
  6. See I like lasagna made with cottage cheese instead of ricotta due to the texture, lol I wonder if I could change this into a cottage cheese bake
  7. Thank you so much, omgosh I am so grateful for this. Thank you.
  8. I have no idea but I would have called human resources before I would have quit. Did you request the time off before hand?
  9. I ended up taking a veggie burger and crumbled it to look like ground beef and cooked it with salsa and jalapeños and topped it with a little cheese. 20g of protein
  10. Now that I'm remembering, ok so he lost 120 pounds by keeping his body in ketosis and he did have bad breath and was using muscle milk!! I mean whey is derived from milk... Which causes bad breath and ketosis is also known for causing bad breath. I googled and found this http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/anabolic-steroids/my-skin-smells-weird-any-idea-cause-874263-2.html You should read through this forum
  11. I was using the premier protein shakes and didn't notice or have any complaints about odor. The only thing I noticed was sometimes if I didn't drink water after I would have bad breath but nothing a good brush and mouthwash couldn't take care of. I also tried the hemp protein and the after taste was bad but went away quickly and didn't give me bad breath. I haven't tried muscle milk... my fiancé used to drink it I'll ask him when he gets home.
  12. I chose rny because I wanted the restriction an malabsorption - gold standard for weight loss. Also I've had 5 successful family members who had rny and one who had the band then the sleeve then rny! I'm almost thinking that she just wasn't as dedicated. But I've first hand seen long term results with rny as my aunt has been maintaining her goal weight for nearly 13 years. Also for the amount of weight I needed to lose which is 150lbs my doctor recommended rny for me.
  13. Wish I would have seen this before! I made deviled eggs this last weekend. I always have hummus on hand. Maybe I'll make these for the game this weekend
  14. I'm curious because I like the flavor of ricotta but I cannot do the grainy gritty texture of it.. My question for those of you who have tried this recipe, does the consistency change becAuse it's baked with egg and Parmesan or is it still that gritty texture?
  15. Do you eat on a somewhat set schedule or just listen to your body?
  16. I have no idea what to cook tonight since for the first time in forever it's just me! Maybe I'll just eat some yogurt and watch movies :-P
  17. Also I have an addiction to the scale partially because I'm more of a numbers freak than a weight loss fanatic... I had my fiancé put my scale in the trunk of his car and he only let's me weigh on Fridays now. Lol silly but it works for me. For instance I know that typically at night I can be up to three pounds heavier every day due to water and food that hasn't been digested. I also know that in the morning that 3 lbs will be gone as it is every day. But I STILL obsessed over it. I would weigh twice a day, that's outrageous and I have a much better piece of mind not obsessively weighing and I don't get discouraged because very rarely if I weigh once a week am I disappointed with the results.
  18. I'm not in anyway defending or excusing what she said to you. However my program suggests that specifically gastric bypass patients can expect to lose 50% of their excess weight. We see so often people exceeding that but that is how they educate us. She may be speaking along those lines and already considers you a success because you have lost about 50% of your excess weight. They told me after that point the rest is really up to me. I most definitely think the way she said it was unprofessional, who is she to say you won't lose anymore weight? What she said may not be what she meant (and I hope not, or she should rethink another career). Keep your head held high because we know you can and will do it goodluck
  19. I live in Texas and mj is still ilegal here, I am against using it recreational but for using medically if needed. I respect that, I actually do like to hear others point of views as long as they aren't attacking someone else's way of life. Like my personal opinion is I'm against the consumption of alcohol period. Even though it is legal I'm against it. Marijuana is legal here for medicinal purposes (soon to be recreational) and it has improved my quality of life drastically.
  20. I don't have the band but I know a friend of mine uses the liquid children's Tylenol which is what her dr recommended.
  21. I too use the bromeline from pineapple, I also want to add that exercising actually naturally reduces inflammation in our bodies.
  22. Beans and cottage cheese, have you tried meat substitutes? They are packed full of Protein... I like Morningstar grillers crumbles (ground beef substitute) and their veggie burgers are good too, they also have meatless meatballs and maybe try tofu? Tofu takes the flavor of whatever you cook it with but I can't do the texture.
  23. Buck up buttercup! Do you realize you have lost almost 5 lbs a week!?!? That's amazing!!!! You have lost what 7 % of your TOTAL body weight in just 3 weeks. That seems pretty incredible to me.
