Craving Pizza? Low Carb Flatout Pizza

Sounds so good! Can't wait until I get to a stage where I can try it. I always used to make "Tortilla Pizzas" with low carb or low fat tortillas. I just put the tortilla on a cookie sheet or pizza sheet and added a little sauce, sprinkle of cheese and toppings and put it in the over until crispy and bubbly. Sounds very similar and with small tortillas you can make individual pizzas for everyone in your family.

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Ok, so I made my scrambled egg this morning! Just cooking it my mouth was watering. I was so exciting, I sat down with my bowl and got a whole 3 nibbles in before I was full! I was like, no!! It is real food! But I could tell I shouldn't go further, so I stopped at a little over 1/4 egg. But I reheated it and had another 1/4 egg for lunch. Hahaha! I wasn't going to let my first egg go to waste. Today was my first day "at work" too. I am very lucky I get to work from home this week. But sitting up the full 8 hours was much harder than expected. I am going to have to figure out something else to get more comfortable, cuz I am dreading tomorrow. It was so nice to kind of feel normal again....well, until I opened my email and saw that I had 1500+ unread emails! Gotta love it! I hope everyone else is starting to feel a little more "normal" too. Oh and my scale is still on strike and refuses to budge! I tried everything short of standing on my head, but it refuses to be nice. Hopefully we can start getting along a little better soon!

    Shamu in the grocery store

I laughed so hard because I can relate. I lucked out that I only have me and my 5 year old to buy for, but I agree, it is tough sometimes. I am only a few weeks out after my surgery date. I went to the store today and smelled the fresh baked bread / donuts as I was going to buy eggs. The smell was yummy, but I definitely don't want to go back there. Now if I could only get over the craving of steak or chicken or some sort of meat. (Or if I could convince myself to eat pureed chicken), I would be good. It really helped me to have a Water bottle with me though. Sip, sip, sip through the store.

    Hello?

Hahahaha! Love that! I am not on a praise and worship group, but I love to praise and worship. I just joined too and it does seem a little quiet. But it does seem like there are some really great people on this site! Your post made me smile.

    Worried This Won't Work...anyone Else?

Hang in there. I am only a few weeks out and some days are easier than others but ultimately I want this. It sounds like you do too as you are taking care of yourself and following doctor's orders. My doc said it is totally normal to retain fluids, so that could be some of what is going on with you now. But hopefully if we keep on the plan and once we can start exercising and getting in the Protein, the hard work will start paying off. It's definitely a journey, but at least we aren't alone. Hugs!

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Update: I went to my first post op appt today. I'm going to have to throw my scale out cuz the doctor's is around 5 pounds heavier. LOL! But I still lost 26 pounds since my surgery on 11/14. Plus I got cleared to go back to work starting tomorrow and all looks good. The doc says that the "swollen" feeling on the tummy is normal due to fluids and such from the surgery. I am hoping that now I am cleared to exercise more, that will start going down. I was also cleared to start pureed foods! Wahoo!! So tomorrow morning I am having an egg. I can't wait! Feeling pretty good to start moving back towards "normal." I know it is a little shuffle that way, but I will take it. Hahaha! Really nice to read all of your updates. Through the good and bad, it is nice to have others who understand.

Sleeved On The 13Th - 1St Egg Today!

You guys crack me up. I was drooling just thinking about either eggs or refried Beans. LOL! I remember feeling that way the first time I drank milk after surgery. And I really wasn't a milk drinker before surgery. Lol!

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Hi everyone! I am so glad that I found this thread so I don't feel so crazy and alone. I had my surgery on Nov 14th and I had a really rough recovery. I was in the hospital two days and couldn't keep anything down. By the time I left I had jaundice, I had thrown up more times than I could count and I was seriously questioning my decision. Come to find out I had a bent IV for two days and as soon as they removed it and my arm began to drain I quit throwing up and the rash on my face went down and the yellow in my eyes went down. Since I have gotten home things have gotten much better. I do find that my energy is still really low. I almost fainted going to a Vitamin store a few days after I got home after about 5 minutes. Now I can get up and walk around for a while but after about an hour I am ready to pass out. Oh and I am sooooo thirsty all the time. I just want to chug Water, which I know we can't. I am pretty tired of cream anything, and all I want is water. But I am trying to keep "restarting" mentally and thinking of the huge blessing this surgery will be. Just a rough start. Also, I have totally stalled in weight loss for the past week or so. I am pretty sure it is because I am not getting in enough calories, but I never thought that I would not lose weight because I wasn't eating enough. LOL! So I have lost 26 pounds since the surgery and 36 pounds since August. That is a pretty awesome feeling! I have my first doctor's appt post surgery tomorrow. One question I did have though... I feel like my legs have lost so much weight, but my clothes around my stomach feel tighter than when I started. Does anyone else have this feeling like your stomach is swollen or something? Thanks and hugs and good thoughts for you all!
