  1. Hi everyone, joined a while ago and have lurked some, but pretty new to posts! Just wondering if anyone here has used Dr. Foreman in Huntsville?? I am waiting for his office to call me with a surgery date... so, I'm almost there! Just wondering how your experience was!! Thanks! Tonya
  2. Just wanted to say HI!! I am pretty new to this board. I live in Huntsville and am in the last stages of getting banded. Because of an insurance change I had a terrible time getting settled on a doctor... but I ultimately went with Dr. Foreman, but he is doing my surgery at Huntsville Hospital. I started with Dr. Facundus, but like another poster mentioned, I was not thrilled with his demeanor. He did my BFF's RNY and she's done great, but I truly believe in a positive relationship with your doctor & she really doesn't care! lol! In the beginning, Facundus was the only covered surgeon at the time, so I would've used him, but after my insurance changed I had to find a different doc. that would use HH (Crestwood was not covered). So, then I saw Dr. Malipur, but it did not go well for me. Everyone I say that too is shocked!! Most everyone was thrilled with him... but he was quite rude to me when I told him I wanted the band. I don't know why we didn't click, but since I left there in tears, I just didn't feel he was the right surgeon for me. I have since questioned my sensitivity, but hey, what's done is done, right!?!? I am *SO* glad you are happy with him and your band and wish you all the best!
  3. Hi! My name is Tonya and I have been on this roller coaster of by-pass... band... self... no, okay by-pass, wait band... okay Weight Watchers (again) for over a year now! My BFF (that sounds so high school-ish, lol) had RNY in October 2006 and I said I would wait and see how she did. Well, she lost 130 lbs and looks great except for the thin, brittle hair and the pale skin tone. I guess that I can live with... but she is always freezing because her Iron is too low and can't get regulated and she is constantly sick due to low immunity. So... I had decided a while back that the Lab Band was the better choice for me. I had my surgical consult in August 2007 and started a new job two weeks later -- so my insurance changed and I've had to put it off until now. I have an appointment with the nutritionist on Monday! THANK GOODNESS... but now I am feeling the terror again! What if I'm denied, what if I fail, what if I hate my life because I can't eat what I want OR because I am always sick or having band issues!?!?!?!?!?!? What if, what if, what if!! PLUS, I was told I'd have to loose about 50 pounds :cool2: to even get the band due to my BMI - HOW AM I GONNA DO THAT?!?!?!?!?! Anyone who can share anything to help calm my nerves... I would greatly appreciate it!!
