  1. That is awesome! Congratulations!
  2. That makes me feel a bit better, my doctors were kind of acting like it mysteriously diappeared or it was in the line and not the band.
  3. Well I just got home from my appointment and it was not good. They had to stick me like 7 different times because each time they went in they thought that they were not in because they could not pull any fluid out. Finally they brought in another Dr. and he got in good and was able to pull out 1.6cc even thogh I was supposed to have 4cc in already. So then they decided to add aother 4ccs for a total of 5.6cc. NOT GOOD! I was so tight that I could not even get down one sip of water. I threw up and was in really bad pain. So then they decided to take some out. They took 2 ccs out and I was able to get the water down. So now we are not sure if I have 3.6ccs or 6 ccs in my band. It was a pretty traumatic day, but I am still hoping that I have some restriction.
  4. I have heard great things about them, but I have never tried them. Let us know how they work out if you decide to get some.
  5. I am going in today at 2:00 for my 2nd fill. I am hoping that this helps. I still have no restriction at all.
  6. I am still here, but barely hanging on. I have only lost 17 pounds since my surgery and I am discouraged to say the least.
  7. I talked my doctor into giving me another fill on Friday since my first 4 ccs have done nothing at all and I have not lost a single pound. Wish me luck I need some restriction.
  8. How in the hec did you lose 51 pounds with no restriction?? THAT IS FANTASTIC! CONGRATS!
  9. How many ccs have you had put in at your fills and are you feeling restriction? I had 4 ccs on my first (and only) fill and I have no restriction at all. I have been reading a lot of the posts for those with 10 cc bands and it seems that many are not feeling restriction. I would like to know how our group is doing with the 10 cc band. Thanks for sharing.
  10. mckelmer - I am in the exact same boat as you. I have only lost 20 pounds and I was banded on the 22nd. Isn't it frustrating! But then I think that I should not complain because I have lost 20 pounds that I was never able to keep off. I go for my second fill in a couple weeks, so hopefully that will help. At this point I have no restriction and eat whatever I want, I just get full a little faster than normal. Keep us posted on your next fill. I am anxious to hear. Good luck!
  11. I am not sure what is up with me, but I can eat anything I want, anytime I just feel full faster. I usually eat around 1000 calories per day, but I don't feel any real restriction. I have the 10 CC band and my first fill was last week and they put in 4 CC. I thought that sounded like a big fill, but I cannot tell one bit of difference.
  12. I finally got my first fill today. They put in 4 CC and I found out that I have a 10 CC band. I was very surprised that it did not hurt one bit. They had me sit in the lobby and drink a cup of water to see if I could hold it down and it went down just fine. I hope this fill will kick start my weight loss.
  13. I am glad and sad to hear that there are others in the same boat as me. In the beginning, I was losing and now I have not lost in forever. I have no restriction at all and eat just about the same foods as before the surgery, I just get fuller faster. My doctor still has not given me a fill and I am just praying that I do not stretch my pouch in the process of waiting for a fill. I am really sad about the whole thing. I am still working out about five days a week just struggling to make sure that I don't regain what I have already lost.
  14. I have been eating a lot of teriyaki chicken or roasted chicken. We have lots of teriyaki restraunts around town and I just order meat only and eat half for lunch and half for dinner. Also, the roasted chickens from the store are great. I strip the meat off and put it in baggies with 2 oz. each. They are great to just grab on the go.
  15. Holy crap, 40 pounds in one month! That is awesome. I thought I was doing good, but not after seeing your loss. What are you eating and how much? Have you had a fill?
  16. I would say based on my experience, you are completely normal. I had my surgery on the 22nd and the day of surgery I was 267 and today I am 252. I have strayed a bit from the mushies and have been eating roasted chicken chewed 4000 times, which to me is mushy. My doctor said this week I can start soft solids like the chicken I have been eating. I lost a lot fast and then the last two weeks have been a pound here and a pound there. My doctor does not even want me to have my first fill for six more weeks, which kind of bums me out. But long story short, I think you are right on track.
  17. I am almost 4 weeks out now and have no restriction at all. I have been careful with what I am eating and have avoided breads and things that could potentially be a blocker, but for the most part I can eat anything. My loss have slowed down to about a pound per week, which is ok since I have not had a fill.......at least it is not moving the other direction. I really want to have my fill bad, but my doctor does not want to give me my first until 10 weeks. Hang in there everyone!
  18. OMG, that is so awesome!!! I hope that I continue to lose like I am. I lost 11 pounds so far since my surgery a week ago. I really did not expect to lose so fast, but my chunky butt is definitely not complaining. Congratulations!
  19. I am actually feeling much much better. My surgery was a week from yesterday and today I feel great! I am so excited and I am losing weight like crazy. People who don't know that I had surgery have been saying they can tell I have lost weight. Hard to believe since I am only a week out, but I'll take it either way.
  20. Hang in there. I am on day 4 and the scale is moving down, so all of this suffering must be worth it. I stopped my pain med yesterday because it tasted so nasty and I seem to be coping with the pain just fine. I left the house for the first time today and took my girls grocery shopping. It was definitely hard, but I needed to get moving and it needed to get done. Stay committed to your goals.
  21. Congratulations Bergdorf. I had my banding on the 22nd and I am still really sore. I cannot walk upright either and am having trouble getting up from my bed. I can tell that I am getting a little bit better everyday though. I am excited to get past the hard part and get on with normal band life.
  22. I am on day three and in a lot of pain still. I have been sipping my fluids and eating jello, but do not feel any restriction of any kind yet, just a lot of gas pains. How long do those last?
  23. No hiccups yet today, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am, however, in a tremendous amount of pain and the Tylenol tastes horrible. I am looking forward to better days.
  24. I had surgery yesterday and everytime I sit upright, I get violent hiccups. It is horrible.
  25. I am getting really nervous. Kaiser changed my surgeon at the last minute so I will not even meet my new surgeon until I come in tomorrow. I am a little freaked out to say the least.:omg:
