  5. The Bougie is the tube thingy that goes down your throat and into your stomach, our Surgeon uses it as a guide to staple around and make your new sized tummy.
  6. Those sound perfect! One more might be what size Bougie he uses. If you'd like to know

  11. I'll be 3 weeks out tomorrow. I swear I feel hungry & have since day one post op!! It goes away when I eat of course but is back every 3-4 hours! I was soooo hoping it would be gone!!
  12. I'm post op!! My Surgery was on the 25th! Everything went great. I'm so lucky I have no vomiting, no nausea, no reflux, nothing!! I've not been able to tolerate protein shakes at all since surgery. My NUT is ok with me not having them, as long as I'm able to get my protein in thru eggs, Greek Yogurt & ground chicken.
  13. I'm five weeks out now and protein shakes of all types still run right through. No problem when I had them in Pre-surgery diet, but now ... it's just a question of some reacting not as quickly as some of the others. NUT says it will get better . I stepped away from whey and tried other proteins to no avail. But it is better than it was... Me too! I'm 2 weeks out on Tuesday. My Nut says only 1 protein shake a day 4oz am and the rest pm, and add 8oz of Soy Milk everyday. Idk I have a really hard time drinking ANY milk. But, since only having the 1 shake a day I am in the potty less.
  14. No bread!! Peanut Butter will most likely sit very heavy in your sleeve also. Have Eggs, Refried Beans, Greek Yogurt, Cottage Cheese instead
  15. That's Great!! Are you home now or not yet? Sounds like you're on the right track ????
  16. Actually, things ARE going great!! I feel so lucky to be recovering this well I have zero heartburn, acid reflux, nausea or vomiting!! I'm able to get in all my protein & water. Other than this pesky drain ( which comes out Monday morning ) I am doing super!! Thanks so much for asking.
  17. Day 4 post-op!! I was so ready for this! How is your pre-op diet going? Good (as it can be I hope! Wishing you the best of the rest of your pre-op diet & a speedy recovery
  18. How about unflavored protein powder? It's supposed to be flavorless, and not change the texture of what you add it to. There is also Isopure protein water @ GNC & Vitamin Shoppe. Good luck
  19. Hi Everyone!, Tomorrow is the big day for me!! Didn't feel nervous at all till 20 mins ago my daughter pointed out I had bitten my nails to the quick!! I just feel so ready for this!! Congrats & good healing vibes to those post-oppers here & good luck to the pre-ops!!!
  20. My 1st END showed polyps in my stomach, which had to be removed. I had a total of 15 removed. It will be a hiccup in the process, and it added several months to my timeframe ( for removal, recovery & recheck) BUT, I'm able to move forward with surgery tomorrow knowing my insides will be able to fully support my new life!! Good Luck!
  21. So glad everything is going good so far! My surgery is on the 25th and I just keep repeating... Sip,sip,sip....walk,walk,walk! Sounds like that's exactly what you're doing!! Keep it up! I wish you a great recovery!
  22. Sometimes with rapid weight loss... The shifting of our insides, muscles and such can cause a nerve to be pinched. The burning , stabbing pain you described does sound like nerve pain. When you lose more weight things readjust again and the nerve gets unpinched and goes back to normal. Hope this helps!
  23. My surgery is on the 25th. I have pre named my new tummy Pepé le Sleeve!
  24. Every Dr. is so different! I'm allowed Chicken Breast on my Pre-Op diet. I'm also allowed peas, mashed potatoes, canned fruit & S.F Jello.
