TheNewSusie got a reaction from Ray92 in Kibbeh
@ray92- I just use a combination of 93/7 lean ground sirloin and ground lamb and I season it with salt and pepper, allspice and fresh ground nutmeg and I bind it with some ghee and wrap it in the grape leave and stew it for a few hours (depending on portion) with Tomato sauce and fresh tomorrow's and fresh lemon juice. And for the baked kibbeh I layer it thinly into three layers kibbeh and then meat and pine nut mixture then kibbeh on top with fresh butter to hold in the moisture and get that crunch. I baked a half sheet pan for 30-45 minutes until golden brown and firm. I also mix some of the meat, (93/7 sirloin and lamb) into the cracked wheat as well as grated raw white onion to bind it together and make it less "carby"

I'm 2.5+ years out and insulin resistant, I learned not to take in more than 30 carbs (good carbs) per day, always follow Protein first then veggies. I stay away from the processed things. I do HFLC and I went from taking 60 units of novolin N/R to 8-10 per day. This is how I lost my weight and got my a1c normal.

CGJ- thank you for such great advice. I was just telling my sister about my dis morphia issues and I have to learn to deal with them or find some kind of support group. It's making me crazy every now and then and I hate the feeling. You probably are right, if I lost more that it may look worst. I'm going to do done research and try to help myself and allow my brain to catch up with my change. Thank you!

Hey, I am a little over 2 years out, I've gone from 250 to 160-165 and I decided to get to 140-145. Right now at 5'6" I am large for my frame and height. I range from sizes 4-6 and still wear some 8's. What bothers me is that I still have a stomach and loose skin combined. I know I'll need plastics one day but right now I have to save money for my wedding in 3 months!! Anyways, I need some advice on starting over. I haven't worked out in a few months because I got "bored" with my routine and scared to try new things. Should I just start over with liquids? I still have restriction and try to stick no low low carb, like 20-30 a day because it keeps my blood sugar perfect (type 1 diabetic) . I need help with these last 20 pounds.... Please!!! Thank you!

I totally understand! I've been type one for 17 years and it stinks. After my sleeve 22 months ago, I stick to a very low carb eating plan 20-30 carbs a day and I stay away from bread, rice and Pasta. I literally take 3-5 units of insulin (if needed) and I pretty much manage without it. Drink your Water and eat some Protein. Hope u feel better.

I'm a sleever but the way to help me is making kale and veggie chips. Thinly slice them on a Mandoline and dehydrate them or bake them at 225 for 30-45 min until Crispy. Use olive oil and seasonings of your choice then make some ranch dip with Greek yogurt. Yum!

I'm a type one and insulin resistant and now control my diabetes with my eating and exercise and rarely take insulin. So yes, although I'm type one, I feel healed.
