allergy shots?
So this might seem odd but prior to surgery I used to get shots for my allergies. I stopped two weeks before my surgery and have yet to start them again, I figured my body is going through a lot right now why add immunotherapy on top of it. Just wondering if anyone else gets shots and if so when did you go back to getting them and was there any negative reactions because of the WLS?

Fruits...
My NUT said fruit was ok during soft food stage and said melons were generally well tolerated. The other fruits on my ok for soft were berries, and bananas and mangos.

Sleeved on 2/18/2014, woke up in ICU
I am glad to hear you are ok now. I can't begin to comprehend how scary that must have been. I have been craving Chipotle since day 1 after I got home. I wont be able to eat for months and months, so currently my head hunger is for something completely unrealistic and I am aware of that. Honestly, the food I can eat is so unappetizing to me (as I am on pureeds) there isn't much motivation needed. Honestly though, as long as i drink my protein and sip my water I seem to be doing ok keeping the chipotle thoughts at bay.

Sleeping problems?!
I still am not sleeping like I was. I was sleeved on 2-12. the first week was the worst. I also have mild sleep apnea and my o2 was really low during the hospital at points.. My inability to sleep for the first week was more from being scared since I had to sleep on my back and i normally sleep on my stomach. I am not finally sleeping about 6 hours at a time, still not great but better than it was.

Exercising?
I have been exhausted. My energy level is pretty bleh. I have gone out grocery shopping a couple times but she wants me to raise my heart rate to 120 for 20 minutes. My entire area is completely covered in snow. I was just wondering if anyone really loved some easy workout.

Exercising?
I went to the dr for my two week post op she said I was doing well but she emphasized how I needed to exercise. Does anyone know any good exercise DVDs that may be appropriate until I'm cleared to go to a gym in another three weeks.

Pureed Question
My nutrisionist recommended Beano when we eat beans to combat the gas. I haven't had a problem since I have used them. I chew the beano- which it oddly says you can do, and then I eat the beans.

High protein bread?
I have tried Julian's an honestly it tasted spongy and odd. This was preop. I had to put a ton of fake butter to mask the taste. Also the bread is not cheap, and my stomach did not like it.

Protein Isolates
So I can't handle artificial sweeteners and I must say if this is even a concern of yours I can say I love Tera's Whey in dark chocolate with unsweetened almond chocolate milk. It has 20grms for 8 ounces. I compared that to the 25 grams for 12 ounces of another protein powder. It has also been the gentlest on my stomach. Other powders make me feel uncomfy bc they were so thick. I may only be one week out but I don't know how I would have survived without finding Tera's. I will say though it is über expensive at $22-28 for 12 servings, but all things considered I don't mind not paying the extra money. I will say I did not like any of the other flavored But they do sell samples on their website. Also, abouttime sells samples on their website as well. My advice is try to find a sample of the product before plunking down the cash. ( I have at least four tubs I will not drink- learn from my mistakes) everyone's taste buds are diff and what I love u may think is nasty.

Stairs?
My only problem before would be if I tried to climb two or three flights. I could do the stairs here no problem.
-
Stairs?
Let me preface this by saying I am one week post op. I live in a house with stairs and I can manage to climb the stairs once and then I feel completely winded. I should also say that I was told part of my lung collapsed during surgery. So is my inability to climb the stairs normal at this point or is it attributable to the lung issue I had in surgery. I go back to work next week and work in NYC and completely rely on NYC subway transportation with lots of stairs and am hoping this will get better. Did anyone else experience the stair fatigue?

Vitamins
I have been using the high potency chewables from all places Trader Joes they also have a sublingual vitamin b complex with frolic avid that I like as well. I've been having some leg spasms so I probably need more potassium.

What's this 'leak test' like?
Mine wasn't too bad it wasn't Barium. I forget what it it is called but it was probably three sips/gulps and turn here and move here. Then it was all over then he showed my new and improved stomach which was leak free.

Just saw this after I posted my question about sleeping on my stomach. Good luck, I still haven't a good nights sleep since I have been sleeved.

Stomach sleeper
I was sleeved last week and was wondering how long will it take before I can sleep on my stomach. I had a sleep study done before surgery and they said I had mild sleep apnea but didn't require a Cpap. Since I have been home I have not been sleeping well and have been waking up with headaches. I am going to see my pcp but was thinking it probably would take some time before I can get another sleep study done. So in the mean time I am sleeping on my side -back with a pillow and dreading sleeping. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
