  2. I was sleeved on 12-16 and there are a lot of days nothing sounds good. I linger and linger in the kitchen just dreading having to eat a meal. Other days, it's not as bad. I'm hopeful it will get better as time goes on.....
  3. Update for the week HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 238.4
  4. I had my first salad last week, spinach leaves only. It went down fine with no problems. I'm about 10 weeks out--surgery 12-16-13.
  5. The bill for the two night stay, anesthesia, & surgeon said $32,000. I paid my out-of-pocket maximum of $1500 and about $250 co-pays for the physician supervised diet (supposed to be 6 months but dragged on for 10)! Blessed to have a good job and great insurance!
  6. I average about 800 calories a day but net about 600 usually after I exercise.
  7. Hi all! Had a great NSV today. I'm moved to "severely obese" now rather than being "morbidly obese" thanks to my 4 pound weight loss this week! That's 80.4 pounds down so far in this journey! I've had to get new clothes because my old ones are just falling off. Great problems to have! HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 241.6
  8. HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 245.6
  9. I am two months out and eat, on average, between 650-700 calories a day. I am exercising everyday so I am not "netting" that many calories. I have not eaten 900 calories yet.
  10. HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 248.4
  11. Weekly check-in! HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 252.2
  12. HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 256.2 I'm so excited because all week I felt like I wasn't losing. Surprise, surprise, I lost 2.8 pounds this week!!
  13. Whole wheat pasta and brown rice are on my list of approved foods for weeks 2-6. I haven't tried any yet (5 weeks out) but will eventually. I was never a big bread eater before surgery so I don't think carbs are a "trigger" for me.
  14. Ree, I can totally relate. I can't stand the shakes. Premier is disgusting! Syntrax is disgusting! Even the thought of a shake makes me want to throw up! Today, I have 215 net calories and 33 grams of protein. I ate half of a Premier protein bar for breakfast, 2 oz of turkey & 1 slice of Swiss cheese for lunch, and about 3 ozs of broccoli cheese soup for dinner. I had a frozen yogurt for a snack. I have only gotten about 16 ozs of water today. I am 5 weeks out and just struggling.
  15. This was my first surgery, first IV, first everything! I had only had a couple of blood draws before I decided to do this surgery. In my opinion, and I have nothing to compare it to, the sleeve surgery was no problem. I had more trouble with no ice chips, no liquids for 24 hours than I did actual pain. I used the morphine pump several times throughout the day but last used it at midnight the day of surgery. I was up walking to the bathroom a few hours after surgery & walking the halls the next two days. So, if I can do it you can too!
  16. Hello ladies, fellow Arkansas here. I live in Sherwood & was sleeved at Baptist on 12-16. I'm down about 25 pounds since surgery & about 60 since I started this journey. I will be happy to share or answer any questions you might have.
  17. Feeling fantastic! HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16,2013) CW 259 I only weigh once a week so I haven't experienced any stalls yet. I'm sure it will come but I think weighing once a week is best for me.
  18. I work for the State of Arkansas as a supervisor for Child Protective Services. I've been with this division for 10 years!
  19. Hi all, just wanted to update. I was sleeved 12-16 and went for my first post-op appt yesterday. I'm officially down 22.2 pounds!! I was excited & my surgeon was very pleased. I know it's not as much as some folks but it feels great to me! Down at least one pant size and probably another if I would just try! Have a great weekend!!
  20. Hi all, I was sleeved 12-16. I go for my first post-op appt this Thursday afternoon. According to my home scale I've lost 18.6 pounds so far. For some reason I think it should be more but I'm pleased (also down 1 pants size)!! On the puréed/soft food stage. Very tired of eating the same thing over and over....
  21. Hi MnWin, sorry about that. Had posted my stats previously & didn't quote the original post! Thanks! HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16) CW 262.4
  22. I was sleeved on 12-16 so almost three weeks out. Although I'm not having the low energy that you are experiencing, our intake is pretty similar. I'm getting about 30-40 grams of protein and about 40 ounces of liquid. I called the NUT Monday & all she said was "keep trying." I can't stand the protein shakes, they have become the devil since surgery!! I am allowed puréed food so I've been eating cheese, tuna, and a little chicken. Hopefully things will improve for us!!
  23. CW 265.8 I only weigh once a week. Surgery date 12/16
  24. I bought the Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel and was able to get down 7 ounces yesterday. Today, I mixed it with some pineapple orange juice and was able to get all 16 ounces down. 23 grams of protein per scoop so that's much more than I had been getting. I liked the Premier RTD chocolate shakes pre-op but can't stand them post op.
