  1. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it.
  2. hello everyone. i consider myself a success story, because of how i overall feel. it's been a full year, today, post op. i range between 175 - 180 lbs, currently. i feel happy with my weight, but i know i need plastics before i'll be happy with my body. my surgeon wants me to get to 14- - 145 before doing plastics, but thing is, i don't think i'll look good. i think i'll look like bones... i'll be discussing plastics in january, when i see him again. i started out at 300 lbs. to

I'm looking into a breast lift and all that jazz after I get to goal weight and everything. My bra cup hasn't changed, but the band size has && now I've got an awkward bra size. It's not a common one. Eh. Boobs are strange creatures...

  5. Thank you so much!! ((:
  6. I started my journey weighing 297.8 lbs (10/16/13). I lost 13.2 lbs during the pre op diet. Today, after eating / drinking, I got on the scale. I was amazed to see how much I weighed, even though I've ate today. 198.0!!!!!! I'm not finished with my journey, but I'm feeling so much better about myself. My energy levels, health levels, etc are all so much better!!! I feel so proud of myself, for learning how to take care of myself, thanks to this weight loss tool && all the doctors and nurses that have been on my surgery case. It's not even been a year, yet I've lost 100 lbs (after losing that 0.2 lbs). With how rough everything else in my life has been, it was so nice to see that number. I cried && I also took a picture.

    Vegetarian or Vegan VSG ?

It's funny. I don't have to take any vitamins, because I get the nutrition I need from what I eat. && I get checked regularly (once a month) to make sure that everything is good. If you eat right, you won't have to take vitamins, unless you want to. But even as such, too much of particular vitamins, can mess you up.
  8. New profile picture. Also, a few pounds away from 100 lbs total loss!!!

    What is your dream job?

I'm currently in university right now. I plan on getting my PhD in Psychology, with specialties in Cognitive Science and Behavorial Neuroscience. I also want to get atleast my Master's in Sociology. Currently, my minors are Biology, History, and Philosophy. I may also go to medical school, to get my lisence to dispense psychological medicine. As of right now, my dream job would be Forensic Psychology. However, I also want to have my writing published.

    Vegetarian or Vegan VSG ?

I don't like the taste of meat and soy is fine with me so far.
  11. I'm going to be blunt and honest: Your friend sounds ignorant. If I had someone who wrote about me like this, I'd drop them so fast, their head would spin. Obviously, your friend doesn't want you to improve your physical health, mental health, or life. You can find a better best friend. TBH, I can't really say how I truly feel about this, because every other word would be a curse word...
  12. Truth be told, I only miss being able to eat and not feel sick after. Like, sometimes, I have to lie on my left side, because if I don't I'll get sick. I'm guessing that sometimes I eat too fast/much, and it's causing discomfort. I also miss being able to eat huge portions. However, I wouldn't go back to being almost 300 lbs. I'm almost in Onderland now, and I feel so much better.

    Vegetarian or Vegan VSG ?

Vegans that force their animals to also be vegan piss me off and I want to turn them in for animal cruelty. Animal ARE NOT VEGANS!! Yes, they can eat some fruits and veggies, but their bodies are designed for meat and they need meat. Just because you're vegan or vegetarian, it does not mean you don't have weight problems. Sometimes, the problems can be from health issues, such as thyroid problems. With me, they couldn't ever tell what my problem was, because I was eating healthy and all tha jazz. Now, a lot of my family has thyroid issues, and sometimes, you can have it and the tests say that you don't. My doctor thought that could be the case. Now, I'm not saying I was perfect on the vegetarian diet. I'd eat really awful foods and in bulk sometimes, such as breads and pastas. As everyone on this site knows, BREAD IS EVIL!! After getting the VSG, I've ate a helluva lot better, and I'm trying to always eat better. After I got the surgery, I had to eat meat for awhile, but I ONLY ate chicken, turkey, and tuna from the can. Now, I do not eat ANY meat / fish at all. I have been considering drinking chicken broth for Protein, but it kinda feels like I'm cheating my vegetarian lifestyle. Why did I ever choose to vegetarian? One summer, while I was staying with my older sister, I told her I was having stomach pains a lot, but that day I wasn't having any. She asked me what I normally ate when I had pains and what I ate that day. She pointed out how every time I mentioned I ate meat, my stomach hurt. My stomach didn't hurt, because on that day, I had not ate any meat products. She told me to try being vegetarian, and see if it helped with my stomach and digestion. In one week, I lost 8 lbs and my stomach / digestion felt SO much better.
  14. I was wondering if there were anyone out there who had the VSG and is vegetarian or vegan? Before the surgery, I was vegetarian for over 3 years. I have recently returned to the vegetarian lifestyle. I wanted to gain other Protein ideas & general food ideas. Thanks
