  1. Hey guys! I need to purchase some from a local health food or grocery store to hold me over until I can order some higher quality ones online. I'd appreciate any recommendations for both. Just no gummies. Thank you.
  2. I'm just curious what, and how much you guys are eating very early on? Today was my first day of pureed foods. For lunch I had a very small amount of refried Beans with nothing on them. Tonight I had a baked potato with hummus and nutritional yeast (for an extra 9 grams of protein), blended with Water, to make it creamy. It took me about an hour and a half to eat because I ate incredibly slow. I wasn't sure what to expect. So far, no tummy distress, as I imagined, but there was/is a lot of gurgling going on. Any other vegans out there with some meal ideas?
  3. Hi Everyone, I ended up in the ER a few weeks ago after a routine fill on my band, unable to swallow even liquid. My body thought I was choking so it kept sending saliva to my espophagus, with no way for it to go down (completely swollen shut). It was horrible. Radiologist said I need to get it out asap. Primary care doc is not familiar with bands at all and wasn't sure what to write. So I offered to write the letter of request to Cigna for her to put on her letterhead. I've searched everywhere online for a letter that outlines the dangers of leaving the band in, as well as the benefits of replacing it with the sleeve. To no avail. There are plenty of letters about bariatric surgery, but none dealing with the dangers of a failed band. Can anyone direct me? We need to submit something asap. Thanks so much.

    Why would Cigna deny me?

To kdvme, or anyone else who may have a sample letter that your primary care provider supplied, can you post it (deleting any private info, of course)? I need to provide my primary care doc a letter to be sent to Cigna because she is not familiar with the band, and I have complications with mine and need it removed. In order for Cigna to approve the band removal and the revision to the sleeve, all in the same surgery, the letter needs to be compelling. It has slipped to the base of my esophagus, causing me to end up in the ER a few weeks ago. Any help for a letter like this would be greatly appreciated. We need the surgery to happen in 3 weeks from now, due to the fact that it will be in another state and logistically we're somewhat tied to that timeframe.
