    Pregnancy

I just reached my 1st anniversary of having lap-bad surgery in August. Now I am thinking about having a child. Can anyone share their experiences with me in regards to having children after surgery? And what has been your experience in losing weight after you have the baby? My Doctor said that I should wait at least 18 months after surgery. Please advise
  4. I have lost 30lbs so far after being banded on the 27th of August. I am going back tomorrow for my 2nd fill. Wish me luck!

    Fills: What to expect

I had my first fill on 10/4/07. I was expecting to be on liquids for at least a week afterwards bu my DR. said that I could go back to solids the next day but to eat slowly. I should have listened to myself I threw up twice and felt extreme discomfort while eating for about four days. I went back to soups and now I feel much better when I eat. I am taking it slower and chewing better. I find that if I don't I get a bad pain in my chest and the urge to throw up.

    Fill Anxiety !!

I'm due to have my very first fill on the 4th of October, I know everyone is different but what can I expect? Will my appetite will much like after I had the surgery? I barely ate anything and I was full for hours off of soups and small amounts of baby food. I am eating regular food now (not mush) and I am still very full on small amounts of food but I see myself snacking more. Please help with some advice. Thanks a bunch
  7. Forgive me if this is TMI but I have been really constipated for the last 2 days. I called my Dr today and he said to take some Milk of Magnesia. He said it was a common occurrence. Has any one else experienced this? I don't think I'm drinking enough water, it makes me so full. I'm spacing out the time between drinking and eatting but it's hard to get in 34oz let alone 64oz.
  8. I finally have my ticker working, thanks to all how helped me. After a week since my surgery, I'm going back to work tomorrow feeling great. I went to a BBQ yesterday and eat a spoon of potato salad. I haven't thrown up yet or felt nauseous, is this normal? you hear so much about people being sick and not being able to hold food down and when you don't experience that you wonder if you are ok. The little white strips are still on and I want to take them off because I'm itchy all around the area. people are saying that I look like I lost weight already, I don't think so. I have a long way to go for that. This website has been wonderful with everyone's words of wisdom and positive attitudes so I know my journey will be easy. Thanks for all of the support

    Just Banded on 8/27/07

Ok so I want to be official, I already have one set up I just need help in putting on my profile, please help
  10. I finally had my life altering surgery yesterday. I'm home now feeling kind of sore in the incision spots. I didn't take the band aids off yet. I think I'm kind of scared as to what I'll see under them. I had my surgery done at Lenox Hill Hospital with Dr. Shah. The medical staff there was so attentive and supportive. I'll definitely be back to show them my new body as they requested. I had the clear liquid diet in the hospital today and when I came home I had half of a protein shake. I don't know what "full" feels like yet, but I I kinda felt like I had to belch so I stopped drinking. I felt really tired today so i took two naps, is this normal? I'm also checking my temperature twice a day and using that breathing pump thing to exercise my lungs to prevent phlegm build up. I'll welcome any suggestions and advice.
  11. I'm in New York City and my Surgeon is Dr. Shah from Lenox Hill Hospital.
  12. I'm about 48 hours away from a new life. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. can someone help me in getting the tracker thing set up please :whoo:

    I'm on for August 27.

I also will be banded on 8/27/07. I had an original date of July 10th and I was just about to go under the knife when the surgeon and the anesthesiologist decided to cancel the surgery because of me having high glucose levels. So now that's under control and I all ready once again. I'm getting excited again also. My surgery is scheduled for 8:30 AM, I'm the first one for the day. Say a little pray for me guys. Oh by the way, how do you get the little ticker thing, I'm going to need that once I get banded :whoo:
  14. I was originally scheduled to have my surgery on July 10th, 2007. The Surgeon rescheduled it because of high blood sugars. I am currently on meds for that and I have a new surgery date of August 27th. That day can't come soon enough. I can't wait to go shopping for my new wardrobe. I'm so excited and ready to start my new life. :whoo:
