  1. Do you mean your surgery is on 12/30/13? If so, congrats! I had mine on 11/20/13 & I am finally starting to feel normal again. LOL! Stay confident and show all of those doctors that you are ready for a change! It is SO worth it!!
  2. Good luck!!! My surgery was on 11/20/13! The way you feel the first day and after you wake up is only very temporary. I am 3 days out and almost feel normal again! (Besides the not eating and the gas pains) BUT HEY! I have lost 6lbs since I was sleeved! Just make sure that you walk as much as possible and try to sip water. Hope everything goes well! Keep us posted! Also, feel free to message me if you want! I'm looking for some sleeve buddies! Oh yeah, sleep as much as you can too. That really helps. (:
  3. I have been sipping on water non stop. I am really trying to keep myself hydrated. I was told that the first week or so post op it is most important to try and get down protein and water and avoid eating if you feel you can't do it. Does that sound right to you guys? I was sleeved on 11/20/13 and am still dealing with the gas pains... any early post op advice would be greatly appreciated!!

  5. How long do they take to go away?! It seems that they are the only thing that still hurt!!! I had my surgery 11/20/13, how much longer do I have to endure this pain?! Any tips or tricks to get rid of the gas faster?! Thanks!
  6. Just had my surgery on Wednesday (11/20/13) and wanted to know what would be good for my 'meals' while on the liquid phase of the post op diet.. any suggestions??? I know I need water and protein shakes but what can I 'eat'?? And is it more important that I try to get in the water and protien shakes down instead of trying to eat?

  15. I had mine on 11/20/13 at noon. The first day is horrible! Walk as much as you can tolerate and if you are feeling nauseous it might be the morphine. Thats what was making me sick. I got switched to loritab and I feel much better. Try to pass gas too! It helps a bunch!
  16. So I got my surgery on 11/20/13 at 12:30pm... From when I woke up until last night I felt horrible. Being two days out now I am finally feeling like myself again. The morphine was the culprit that was making me nauseous. I got switched to loritab last night and I was finally able to ear this morning! And pass gas... that's a huge accomplishment for me. I was only burping but being able to do both really helps out with thw stomach pain. (:
  17. 2 days out and I am feeling a lot better. I was actually able to put down 1oz of vanilla pudding and 1oz of plain cream of wheat from the hospital kitchen. Yes I decided to stay in the hospital an extra day. I was feeling nonstop nauseous and found out it was the morphine making me sick. I got swithed over to liquid loritab and feel much better. I am so excited to get past these first few months of healing and move on to my happier healthier life! Oh. And in case anyone was wondering I weighed 381 before my pre op diet. Day of surgery I weighed 359. (:
  18. In quite a bit of pain. Not able to keep much down besides water. I might have to stay another night because I've been so nauseated
  19. In my own room. I felt horrible right after waking up but I feel a lot better now. Its just like I did 500 sit ups. LOL. I can't even put down the jello they gave me. Just sips of good old h2o.
  20. I felt like I was DYING the first day. After that it got easier and easier day by day! And today is my surgery! I am in the waiting room as we speak waiting to be called back!
  21. I believe that I am getting my own room! PHEW! And thanks for the well wishes everyone! I am in the surgery waiting room waiting for my nurse to call me back for the IV hook ups and undressing. Haha. I cannot wait!
  22. The Barium was HORRIBLE! I took it on monday and I am still having white runny stool... And I've been on my two week liquid diet so that doesn't help. It also sucks when they jab your wrist for your blood gas levels. OUCH!
  23. I am about to leave for the hospital! Please keep me in your prayers and give me some inspiring or funny stories to read when I come off of the anesthesia please! I am VERY excited!!!
  24. My surgery is on November 20th!!! I am SO excited!!!! These two weeks of all liquids is kinda hard though. Lol!
