  1. What on earth does Joe's Crab Shack do to 6 little grilled shrimp on a stick to make them over 300 calories??????

I was just shocked when I got home - I thought an ear of corn and a few grilled shrimp was a decent enough choice at my brother's father's day dinner last night - yikes! Gowalking, that might be it - they came with a cup of some sort of flavored butter. I gave it to my niece for her potatoes, so maybe that's where all the calories came from.

  2. What am I doing wrong? I just started soft foods and it's not going well. I take a few bites, chewed very well and spaced well and it feels like it's stuck in my chest!

You may not be doing anything wrong - the switch over date is a guideline. You might just need to back down for another day or two then try again. It gets better!

Thanks, all! And Jane, you can do it! I'm going to enjoy it for a day or two, then start jamming towards "overweight" :)

  6. What an exciting milestone for me! I am no longer obese on the BMI chart. As of this morning, I have hit the overweight section of the chart. I cannot wait until I get into the healthy portion. The last time I was not considered obese or morbidly obese was when I was 24 years old. That is over half my life! Woot woot!

  7. Still haven't broke 100 lbs at 7 mos out. Grrr!!! Been stuck at 263 for a month.

  8. #NSV I went to Macy's today, which I hadn't been able to shop at in FOREVER before being Sleeved, and I was a size 18W in pants!!! That's down from size 20W, which was not too long ago!!! Happiness!!! :-D

  9. Ending this month 7lbs down for a total of 83lbs lost!..Bring it on June :)

  10. 220 lbs. today, 5/28-- only 60 more to go to get to my personal goal...21 to go to my surgeon's goal, 112 lost since VSG (9/9/14), and 153 lbs. lost since HW of a year ago. Gettin' there! Loving my Sleeve!

  11. Struggling with head hunger periodically and stress eating at work today...... Working my plan and trying not to eat everything around me. Head hunger is worse in the evenings after supper.

Yuck! Some days are like that - hopefully you'll be able to leave work soon and leave the stress behind!

  12. I made it to my first big goal! I am down 100lbs as of this morning. Just 10 more to go to get to onederland. And 45 more to get to my ultimate weight goal. Woot. Woot

  13. what on earth do restaurants do to grilled chicken to make it make me sick?

    1. roundisashape

Shrimp seems pretty reliable so far - I haven't tried fish out anywhere yet. It just seemed crazy to me that the allegedly healthiest thing on the menu aside from undressed lettuce is the one thing that makes me sick!

Must be - I try to make healthy choices when I go out but it's almost guaranteed to come back. Oddly, fried with the breading pulled off doesn't usually bother me. I wonder how much grease soaks into fried chicken when any breading or skin is pulled off?

  15. 8 days from my 6 month surgiversary - if I can lose 3 more pounds, I'll be halfway to goal. I might even get a haircut just to take off a few ounces, lol.

Thanks, all! 1 pound to go now by the 25th - I wanted to be half done at 6 months and it looks like I might make it!

That's awesome! How far out are you again? I'm almost 6 months and still competing with the dog to see which one of us can leave the most hair everywhere.

  18. Hit and run driver nailed my new car the day my first payment cleared, and now it hurts to exercise :(.

  19. What a great boost yesterday when my oldest bonus daughter told me she had watched me as I walked around in the hospital cafeteria yesterday (where we were having lunch) and said I was "really looking fantastic!" What a blessing and an encouragement!! And before we went to lunch, while we were in my son-in-law's room (he's the patient), my 6 year old grandson said he could tell I had lost a lot of weight (big smile!). This wasn't the first time either. Both made my day!!!

  20. Do you count / track the calories in your vitamins and supplements?

    1. roundisashape

      roundisashape

Thanks, all - I'm debating on whether to keep counting them or not. The vitamins, fish oil, fiber gummies and calcium chews add up to 83 calories. Doesn't sound like much, but it's a big chunk of a low calorie day.

  22. Little things can make a huge difference! Protein shakes are much more drinkable over ice.

    1. roundisashape

      roundisashape

It does - I can't tell the difference at all. It's supposed to be the way it's processed that causes it to have less sugar and more protein, but I don't have any clue what's involved :)

The coffee and the pineapple extract both sound delicious - thanks! Have either of you seen the new Fairlife milk? It's got more protein in it than regular milk (13 g for 1 cup vs 8 g). I've been drinking more of that, too. Most of my protein comes from food now, but some days it's just harder to meet that goal than others!

  24. Traveled all weekend and my eating was a little out of control. At least I got plenty of exercise - back on track today!

  25. NSV - this may sound odd, but I was just able to touch my tongue to my knee for the first time in ages!

    1. roundisashape

      roundisashape

LOL! I love it! It's okay - I came to work and showed my boss how I can touch my foot to the inside of my thigh again.
