  1. That's normal maybe even up to 2 weeks. It will happen just nothing really to form on liquids.
  2. She's A Bad Mama-jamma!
  3. If skin is holding up well; I want to go to a resort by a beach and wear a thong bikini with a sorong and act like I'm new, because I will be~
  4. I am 5 weeks out from Wednesday as well. I use SparkPeople to track my food to ensure that I am getting enough Protein. I actually said 'wow' on the rice krispies/wheat bread and somewhat the Peanut Butter because my doctor doesn't want me to eat high carb anything. The peanut butter is ok if it is all natural but only 1 tablespoon. I believe you are loading up on carbs instead of protein and we should be eating protein first at each meal. I hope you find your right solution!
  5. It happens and then it goes away and then it happens again. I think I have it when I eat a bit too fast. Just be conscious of how you are chewing and swallowing...but...sometimes it just happens. I do the same thing. I was eating some cooked salmon the other night and put some light Miracle Whip on it to make sure it was moist and after about 2 baby spoon bites, I was burping and miserable and had to walk and have my back rubbed/patted to help it up. I also too a GasX and that didn't help. So I decided that it just may be the fish and I need to cut back on fish for a while. Now all is good. I have heard that after about 3-5 months, the noises and sounds will get quieter. Let's hope so, huh!
  6. I know that you are going through a lot of pain and frustration with yourself and I hope that you can reset your pouch and your mind, but this is good to hear for us newbies. Just to know that you can go back to bad habits once you know how to do it is scary. I sometimes wonder why they even allow 'crackers' during the soft solid stage too. I went out to find some crackers that had low everything (carbs, cholesterol, fat, no sugar, calories, etc.) and tore that small bag apart within 3 days. That can't be good! It seems to set you up for failure early in the process. Even though I didn't gain any weight by doing that, I know what it is to begin the cycle of eating carbs is all about and I don't want that to happen to me after all that I have gone through. Good luck and stay focused on you!
  7. I am 5 weeks out from surgery and there was a time when I felt like my stomach stretched out, but then I found a website about the sleeve that said this doesn't happen until about 6 months to 1 year but never back to the way it was. I am one that have been eating upwards to a cup of food. Not all food, because now since I am on soft solids, I can't eat fish like I used to. So I'm struggling to figure out what I can eat for Protein without starting shakes again. Also, I have slowed down in the weight loss area. When I eat more calories I lose weight but feel guilty for eating more calories. When I eat less, I don't lose. It is such a head trip. However, I have read that everyone stalls around this time, but begin to lose again shortly afterwards. I think if we just don't focus on losing weight and take every day as is, we're gonna come back with some fabulous results. Stay focused and good luck!
  8. Water keeps my blood pressure stable by flushing salts out of my body and is great for your skin. I believe we also use water to keep our bowels moving well and is the first thing to do if you feel hungry, however, drinking water for hunger has never helped me. I have to eat something.
  9. I had the worst first day on soft-solids. I 'reheated' leftover dinner, which was talapia, quinoa, and greens. I thought I had enough juice from the greens to be alright, but it went down dry and got stuck so I was sick for almost 4.5 hours. Had to leave work and everything. So unless it is freshly cooked, I don't eat it. Whatever you choose to eat, make sure that it is moist as all get out! Your food selection must still be of the pureed type even though it is solids (soft-solids.) Everything that you are getting ready to eat, make sure that it will puree in your mouth and that it is moist going down, otherwise, you will suffer. Not trying to scare you, but I believe if we question before we put something in our mouth OR if we put something in our mouth and chew on it and it doesn't feel moist - DO NOT SWALLOW! Spit it out! That is what did yesterday. I ended up eating only one teaspoon of the potato salad, tested the dark meat chicken for moisture and only ate about 2 ounces of that, then one teaspoon of the spaghetti. Took me 30-40 minutes of testing and spitting to make sure, but it's training me to make the right choice. Good Luck. I'm sure you will find your way!
  10. Apple. Everything else will go except for the stomach. That's the hardest!
  11. Hateration! I hate to say that some people just don't want to compliment you when you are doing well. A 70 lb loss on anyone is recognizable. So don't worry and keep doing you. Congrats!
  12. Great question! I am wondering the same thing and I am going on one month tomorrow. I had an episode just this past Wednesday when food got stuck. I was sick as a dog for almost 4.5 hours. I had heard that it would be 3 months and some have said that it takes a full 6 months to be ready to eat anything in small quantities. Oh well, I know this is for the better and I'm loving my new size already. Good luck in your journey!
  13. Been there and now I'm tired of mashing up all my foods in the pureed stage. Ready to eat real solid foods!
  14. You probably threw up a bit in your sleep. Ewwwweeewwwww.
  15. Wow, that's a long time to have to wait for puréed and solids. Why are they making you wait that long?
  16. I don't know. My surgery was great! I had some minor things that happened, like nausea from the dye that you have to drink, and from another medication that I had to drink, but that was all. I had a private room, with a great medical team that knew their stuff, and some great Nurses. No major pain after surgery only tenderness around the large incision and adjustment to the liquid diet. Let's see, lost 21 lbs in 12 days and can tell that my clothes are getting looser. Everyone is different, but you didn't go through the pre-process for nothing. Sometimes you just need to have a little faith! Good Luck!
  17. This is my third day on the pureed stage and I can say that I am not hungry, just know that it is time to eat. Are you drinking enough liquids? Are you timing meals appropriately, because that has been a problem with me after returning back to work. Are you eating enough? Try the part-skim mazzorella string cheese as your snack. Hang in there, this stage will be over soon.
  18. Congrats and caution! I wanted to work out too when I returned back home, but because of the amount of foods that you eat - barely nothing, and low protein, you may not have enough strength to go on your usual walks or workouts. Good luck on the losing side and take it easy.
  19. Lately, I have been drinking ice cold water because when it becomes room temp I won't drink enough. Can you add a few cubes of ice to the water to see if that helps?
  20. The only things needed was the following: Baggy clothes and slip on shoes to wear to the hospital Chap stick Brush, comb, lotion Toothbrush and toothpaste Cell phone ONLY You leave with the same clothes you come in with. Good luck!
  21. Kudos to your tenure with the sleeve!!! This liquid stage is killing me, I swear the only sweet thing I will have after stage 2 will be puréed fruit. That taste in my mouth is making me gag. Yep, thought I wasn't sleeved properly because I am getting everything in. Thanks for this reinforcement.
  22. Makes sense, even the healing of the stomach and numbness. I thought something was wrong with me because others that were sleeved around the same time were experiencing not eating enough but I was flying right on through. Thanks big time!
  23. Good job. I like reading about successes in short periods of time but for newbys it good to also hear about your routines and methods of getting there. Something that I have committed to do when my time comes.
  24. Woo, I am so glad that you posted this. I'm a fast eater too, yep gone in 15 minutes flat, so even though the liquid foods are sliding down my throat, I have not felt a restriction. I move to the puréed stage on Thursday. Will I realize the heaviness then?
  25. Congratulations! How often do you exercise?
