Why are some weight loss surgery patients so clueless?
I just don't respond. It could be that entitlement age where people want you to hand information to them on a silver platter, line by line, stage by stage.

Why cant i throw up when i get too full.
Throwing up was not in fashion in my day, but whoa baby!, do I stick my finger down my throat and tickle, tickle, heave ho..... It took me about two months to learn that and now, I rarely need to vomit. We teach ourselves how not to eat so that we don't become miserable!

Healed, Bigger or Relaxed Pouch?
I'm 4 1/2 months post-op and last night, I was able to eat a bit more than a half of a small filet of Talapia. I was impressed because I thought eating Salmon, Talapia and Cod was over since every time I had eaten it, I would get deathly sick because it just wouldn't go down right. I guess I should say that I DARED to eat some Talapia last night and it worked. Still some work, but not like the past. My question to everyone on the forum...What is going on internally that makes difficult foods in early stages become easier to eat? Is your body healing or healed or is the stomach pouch getting bigger or relaxed?

Surpassing my nemesis
Queen, I am with you on this one. I measure my minor successes based on how clothes fit and reaching the '0's' on the scale, but I can tell you that I have two mini weight goals I want to pass because I have hit them before and gained it back and some. They are: 247 and then 227. 247 lbs represents what I have achieved in weight loss independently and 227 lbs represents when I left my hometown to live where I am today. My fear is that when I reach 227, I will just stop losing because my mind will tell me I have arrived. You know how your mind plays tricks on us. Congratulations on surpassing this one goal. You/we can do this!!!

what is everyone eating?
I agree with everyone on here, especially Kindle regarding what to eat. I was stuck on a certain weight loss for a while, until I went back to eating three meals per day and eating Protein first. Once I got back on track with my exercise, I started back to losing weight. Good Luck on getting it right!

OK Girls.. what the heck is the story
I'm wearing my older bras that I kept when I lost weight before and they are fitting nicely. I think most people don't realize they have dropped a bra cup size because they don't get properly fitted. Now since our ta-ta's are deflating, it is good to get fitted to keep them up as high as we can get them Jiggle, Jiggle ladies

"When I finally lose the weight I am excited to...."
Just step into a regular store and pick something off the regular rack and buy it.

Convincing My Husband
I feel your body is your body, however, if you need to hear it from him that he supports your decision, then this is a system that you have set up between the two of you. I would stress with him the difference of being overweight and unhealthy as opposed to being the correct weight and healthy and what that will mean for the both of you. Share with him the symptoms of yo-yo dieting and how that wrecks havoc on the heart. Still, I say that you should discuss what really matters in this weight loss battle and not so much about the surgery as an isolated matter. Take him to the information session and let him ask questions (if he will go) and get on You Tube to show him the many videos that are out there about the procedure. He may be afraid and don't know how to tell you. Good luck with this one!

8 months Trouble eating....
I eat pretty good at 4 months and have been doing good since 2 months. I can't imagine ever not being able to eat especially 8 months out. I would go to your doctor's office to find out the root of the problem. Doesn't sound normal. Good Luck!

The Smoothie and Protein Drink Debate
I see no problem in continuing the Protein shakes actually for life. Sometimes it comes in handy when you are running all day and just haven't done a good job at getting your protein in. I am 4 months out and my must haves at home are Jay Robb whey protein (chocolate), soy milk, cocoa powder, skinny girls stevia, cottage cheese, greek yogurt and babybel cheese in those rare cases when I know I didn't get my protein in for the day. Plus, instead of eating something before and after a workout, it sometimes feels good to drink a Protein shake. Cool and refreshing.

Yummy treat DQ
I am so afraid to eat real sugar. I had some homemade potato salad and it had miracle whip in it and the next day, I felt like I was having an out of body experience - the whole day. It made me feel really weird. I thought it was something else that I ate, but then I put it in my salmon to make it moist and that same feeling happened the day after. Either I am all of a sudden intolerant of Miracle Whip or it's the sugar. I haven't had the courage to try either again. Sounds delicious though!!!

Energy
Yes. You are losing rapid weight and your frame has to get used to it. Add in some walking and don't try and keep up with others on the forum, it will run you ragged. The walking will give you more energy believe it or not. Good Luck!

HOLY BANANAS | Gastric Sleeve Surgery Date Aug 4th | WHAT IS YOUR BEST POST OP ADVISE
Stick to your doctors orders the first 6 weeks post op - no veering! You will be happy you did.

No pre-op diet.......
You are one of the luck ones, like I was. My doctor wanted me to lose 5 pounds if I could, but not picky. New rules say that it is the clinic's choice to put you on a pre-op or not.

Losing Appetite 3 months out
I have had moments when I just can't eat and most times that's when I'll have a good weight loss for some reason. It's almost as if the sleeve can't take any more food. Otherwise, I would say if it is bothersome, check with your doctor.

Help i gained weight!

Slow Loser? Maybe not . . .
Good wake up call! I'm the same way. Had my surgery on 3/19, have lost 52 lbs and in a stall. Everyone else that I am friends with on this forum that had surgery the same day have outpaced me. I'm 6'0 and my weight loss show immediately - very lean do to distribution. I think that is the reason why it is slower. Plus, I'm perimenopausal too. Comparing is Madness! Great post!!!
