    Drains

I read that too and thought to myself, wow and that I pray that I don't have to do that. I will make sure to ask that question when my time comes.

    I Traded Fat For Old!

I have heard that once your body settles, your face will begin to fill out again. Hang in there.
  4. Congrats to you! I can't wait til the day I fit into a size 12. That's my goal.
  5. So, my dr's office didn't submit one requirement to insurance which will delay my surgery by 10 weeks. I was given the pre-op diet to lose 5 lbs. Would you stay on the pre-op or wait 5 weeks to start it?

I would cut back on your calories prior to your pre-op diet. I cut back on my calories a month prior, it has helped my in tolerating my 2 week pre-op diet consisting of 2 protein shakes and 6 oz of lean protein and a cup of veggies. I am not hungry between my meals. I also added the protein shakes to my diet a month prior. On pre-op diet you will feel a little more fatigued than normal. Good luck and time will fly by.

perhaps a carb free diet. this will help get rid of belly fat which in turns helps your surgeon place the band.

I'm more consistent during the week where there's more structure and I struggle on the weekends. So maybe I can stick to the pre-op during the week and do the shakes in the morning and lean protein, vegetables, and light carbs on the weekend?

    So Down:(

Keep your head up and get back in it! I think it's only natural to want instant gratification in pictures and we all know that pictures add 15 lbs to each of us, so it's not the real test. I also think that you know that you have probably lost about 5 sizes by now and that is such a huge accomplishment!!! Since you have more weight to lose, pat yourself on the back for getting where you are today, get refocused and mean with it girl, and look forward to this summer when you will be fine and oh so sexy
  8. If I had a known that at my doctors office ALL the power is given to the nutritionist during pre-op for approval to advance me to surgery, then maybe I wouldn't have been frustrated with the unknown process. If I had a known to ask everyone that was involved with my care to check and double check for sign-offs and insure information is recorded in my records in a timely manner, then this would have given me a clearer conscience. If I had a known that this is all that I should have known then I would have been able to just sit back and relax and chill through some of this process. However, now that I know, now that I know... Thank you for your patience!

    Is Starbucks Bad And Evil?

I'm a pre-sleever and I have been told to get off the sauce, so I still go but order a large pomegranate/oolong tea with two splendas. They give you the tea bag and I can add hot Water to it. However, I have heard that a ways out from surgery you can incorporate coffee back in your everyday life.
  11. Aw now...you are looking Marvelous!
  12. I'm thinking infection too.
  13. Anyone that have read my blog knows that I feel dupped in the pre-op journey. Again, my nutritionist wanted to see me 6 times when I only needed to see them 3 according to my insurance, blah, blah, blah... Someone told me that I should request from the Dr's office that they submit my paperwork for approval from my insurance company so that it's done and the only thing that needs to be done is to lose 8 lbs, meet with the DR and a date. Do you think this is too pushy?
  14. If anyone has been reading my post about my frustration with my nutritionist you will know that I have gone from mad to frustrated to do something about it, to ok...NOW, I'M HOT AGAIN!!! So I emailed my PA to request that they submit my paperwork for approval since I am in the pre-op diet phase. I received an email from the nurse coordinator telling me that I had to complete 4 more things before submission. Two of the four things have been completed, which clearly tells me that they are not paying attention to my file or that they have poor record keeping. The only thing left to do is lose the weight by December 18 and visit with the DR. Ok, so maybe they don't want to submit the paperwork to insurance until I have done the two, but don't tell me that I have to do the other two when it is already done! That is straight up incompetence at play right here!!!! So, I emailed them back an ubber professional reply about my concerns - I had to go in management mode like I would with my direct reports and let them have it regarding my records and their processes. Nothing I said would hurt you, just cut and sting a bit to jar them into reality that they are not dealing with a helpless and incompetent person. I requested that they contact me basically with better news. Please tell me if anyone else has gone through this before? I don't want to be alone in this one. Help me to help them.....
  15. Whoa! I read that you have to lose 20 in 2 and my eyes almost rolled out my head!! You know what, I would have the greatest challenge when I was on HCG sometimes with cheating. One way that I prevented a cheat was to go to Starbucks and order a large regular coffee and I would add splenda and one creamer in it. Having a taste of sweetness helped me and I new it was not a lot of calories. My other way was to go to bed earlier than I would before. So off to sleep at 7:30 or 8pm. No way would I wake up to eat or cheat. Hope this helps and Good Luck!
  16. It's generally business as usual for us. My husband has committed to be there when I have the surgery and for most of that first day, but then the next day, depending on when it lands, he can go to work, my teenager can go to school, etc. I don't want it to be too much of a fuss.

    Has Anyone Use Retinol A?

    Yea, it's good!
  18. Yes, I did the same thing. Called the insurance company and they said that they didn't even have a set nutrition visit. The only thing that they required is having surgery with an approved dr, attend the info session, get the letter from my primary care for surgery, and meet with the psychologist. Again, not being nasty here, just staying on top of the situation.

    Take That Aetna!

Congratulations and good job speaking and standing up!
  22. Oh and the big issue here is the one request that has been completed is "you must participate in monthly calls from your insurance company for 5 months" which would put me out for 10 months total. If I hadn't inquired, I would be on that roller-coaster. That's the BIG ISSUE.
  23. Not hitting just don't think that you really think objectively or thoroughly read that's all. You are entitled to your opinions however. What I can do is what I said above. READ and open your mind to offer positive feedback. Actually this feedback was much better than before.
