  2. What is done is history, but you have a say in your future. By leading a healthier lifestyle you are increasing your odds to prevent more damage to your body. You may need some meds in the future all depending on your body and doctors. Keep up the good work and you will better your odds to less meds in your life

  5. Your wife should stay at home, as the hospital staff will tend to your needs after surgery. As stated in the above posts you will be out of it for the first night.
  6. Congrats on your date. I started my pre-op diet the day before Thanksgiving, I ate a small meal and limited my carb intake on Thanksgiving. A month prior to my pre-op diet I started cutting back on my caloric intake. This has helped me a lot with my pre-op diet of 2 shakes and 6oz of lean Protein and a cup of veggies. I do not feel hungry between meals. So far I have lost 15 pounds on my pre-op diet with 4 days to go. Your surgery date will be here before you know it.
  7. I got my official approval letter on Saturday, I went on my insurance company's website earlier in the week and got my status. My surgery date is December 11, and I am on day 5 of my pre-op diet. I am having no problems with the diet, two shakes and 6 oz of lean Protein and a cup of veggies per day, I started a pre pre-op diet 3 weeks prior. That has helped me combat the hunger issues. I sampled different shakes on the pre diet to find one that I could tolerate. I am looking forward to my surgery so I can start a new chapter in my life.
  8. My surgery date is 11 December. I started my pre-op diet on the 27th. I was trying for the sleeve but my insurance would not cover this "new" procedure. I am actually looking forward to my surgery as I have battled with my weight for the past 31 years
