Hey, ive been doing better than expected. Im pretty soar around my incisions, especially my belly button and the one to the left. I didnt have alot of gas pains but I do walk and burp alot. I just ate some sf pudding and it went down w/ no problem. I dint have any pain meds today, so im hoping that was the end of that. I did take some liquid Tylenol due to a headache. Liquid meds are horrible!! I hope everything is going well for you.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Morning December Sleevers. Im on day two of my post-op. I was told my surgery only took 45mins. As soon as I was able to go to the bathroom I made laps around the halls. Walking really helped the gas pains but it also made me nauseous. My nurses were so nice and me feel comfortable. The first day I couldn't drink anything. This morning around 5 I was given a sf popsicle. I ate it no problem. I thank God for minimal pain. I hope everyone else feels the same.

So did you bring your own food and protein shakes or did the hospital provide it?

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I had my pre-op appointment with the surgeon today and it went well. I'm on schedule for the 16th at 7:30 am. I was told my protein levels were on the low side so he will be pushing protein shakes alot. I only have todo a two day pre-op diet, which I thank God for! I admire the people who had to do weeks of it. After the appointment it dawned on me that this is really going to happen. Im scared, nervous, and excited. How do you begin to imagine yourself healthy and smaller, when all you've known is being overweight, plus size, fat, obese? No longer Relying on food to be my comforter is going to be my biggest challenge. Im just going to keep my eyes on the prize and ask the Lord to give me strength. Everyday and really every second. Lol

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hey December Sleevers! I just received my approval last week and my surgery date is December 16th!!!! My process went faster than expected. It took about two months to get all my requirements done: Family doctor approval, Nutritionist appointment, and one psych eval. Have BCBS of IL. Im 27yrs old, 5'8 @274lbs. Ive always had a problem with my weight so im super excited for my day to come. Have you guys been apprehensive about telling people? I've had to stop since I keep getting all negative feedback.
