    October Sleevers - Who else

    Please add me!! Lordiliwen@aol.com. Thanks!
  4. I wish I had known how difficult it would be to watch everyone else eat food that I no longer will allow myself to touch. I wish I had known how difficult head hunger would be to control. I wish I had known about the emotional roller coaster my hormones have had me on for the past month. I also wish I would stop comparing myself to others that have had this surgery and stop thinking that I'm doing a terrible job because my weight loss isn't as much or as quick as some people.
  5. I'm with some of the others. I was on my side a few hours after surgery.
  6. Sleeved 10/22. Pre-op was 22lbs lost. Post op (after I snuck over and used my friends scale) is 25lbs.

Everything I Eat Or Drink Hurts

Everything I Eat Or Drink Hurts

Omg! I feel you. One day I'm doing great and the next everything hurts. I felt great coming off the surgery and the day I got home, I couldn't drink anything. I don't know if it's the process of healing or our bodies going through the stress of the surgery, but some days I feel like a yo-yo.
  9. Yoga pants, flip flops (might be a bit too chilly for those now, plus if your not good on your feet, I'd suggest some type of slippers or slip on shoes) and a t-shirt.
  10. Lauren, I have Anthem BC of California. My husband works for FEDEX out here in PA. let me tell you, they are a joy to work with. I called them after my info session to see if I was covered. I was. I asked them what I needed to do in order to get approved. Was told that with a BMI of lower than 40 I needed two comorbids. Needed just one over 40 BMI. I didn't need to do a doctor supervised diet. They just wanted certain tests done and a recommendation letter from my PCP. I took care of EVERYTHING Anthem wanted and then took care of all the tests my surgeon required. My whole process took just under 3 months. I was sleeved on October 22, 2013 and haven't looked back since. Good luck!!
  11. I've lost a car tire, a large bag of potatoes, a 12 cup Mr. Coffee machine and a two liter bottle of soda. Who knew?
  12. I'm 5'8. At my highest weight of 262 people never believed me. Two of the nurses on two different occasions during my pre-admission testing asked why I was having the surgery because 'you don't look THAT fat'. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize I needed to LOOK fat in order to qualify for this surgery. Bottom line is, I didn't have this surgery just to lose weight. I did it because I'm 43 and I was on 3 different BP meds that did absolutely nothing for my BP and after living for 18+ years with kidney issues, ALL my doctors and specialists agreed I should do it. I haven't looked back since.
