I was scheduled for a band revision to sleeve but backed out of the surgery. Could't picture myself eating few bites for the rest of my life. I have been doing research and the mini gastric bypass (mgb)seems interesting as an option now. It has good results coming out and similar to rny bypass with less complications. The mgb has a litter bigger sleeve and you are able to eat a decent size meal after 6 months to a year and studies show steady weight loss with less complications percentage. It is also reversible in case you need a exit strategy which is the plus point. When I got the lapband, people and doctors would swear by it and now they disregard this surgery, so yes the reversibility is a big plus. The only downfall is that mgb is still experimental surgery and insurance does not cover it, I am thinking it getting overseas at kular hospital in india since i will be visiting in few months.

i was band 5/01 and still have gas pain, but much better than before.how long did you have gas? I am drinkin liquids and are slowely going down. does this get better with time? I belive it might just be the swelling around the band area. I am very parnoid that my band is too tight and i wont be able to eat at all later on. I also have very light pain when i take deep breaths where my stomach is. not sure if it is the incision pain on my abs or its my band. My stomach is still swollen especially where the port is, how long does it take for that swelling to go down. you input will really help me

As a guy, my sex drive has gone way way way down....I have gained like 90 lbs the last 4 year. since the last 6 months, i could go without sex for almost 2 weeks. Before that I could go like 3 times a day and almost everyday. I know it has somewhat to do with the weight gain and somewhat witht he pinched nerve in my back. Hopefully these 2 problems will be taken care of after the lapband. Cant wait to get lapbanded. Did any guys have this kind of experience?
