Congrats to all you December "babies". I was sleeved 10/17/13. I started at 238 5'6inches. Now I'm down to 207!!! 170 is my goal weight.
My dr's goal is somewhere around 150-160, but I've been that small before and it doesn't look healthy on me.

I'm still very excited about mine! I find it so bizarre that I haven't eaten anything in 9 days! Four more to go and then surgery Friday!

Try the Better Than Boullion paste. I like the chicken it on its own, a spoonful in hot Water and I added a smaller spoonful into the Unjury Chicken broth. I find it very tasty.

    SoPeachy28:
Thanks for your reply. We will have to keep each other in our prayers.
I am doing much better with the headaches lessened. I think I am allergic to something in the the Ketogenx shake mix I was drinking. I tried a couple of others such as Oh Yeah with better results. Tomorrow starts the all liquid phase for me. We're only a week away!
I had a hysterectomy in 2005 - with about an 6 incision - I guess I am thinking that if I can live through that I can live though this.
It seems like different people are on different diets before surgery - any idea why they are all so different?
    Thanks again for the encouragement!

I bought the Syntrax samples too. BJ's bariatrics lets you pick the flavors you want. I made a shake this morning with cappucino flavor, 1 cup cold Decaf, a few teaspoons of sf caramel Syrup and a handful of ice cubes. It was pretty good. The smell of the Protein as soon as I add liquid to it kills me! I am going to try so unflavored in my crystal light tomorrow and see how that goes!

I've been using the Syntrax Nectar unflavored mixed into Water with Crystal Lite flavor packets. Same idea, but just investing in one tub plus cheap flavor packets instead of many different tubs.

Be careful ordering too much before surgery. Or at least check to see what their return policy is. You taste does change. In fact I asked my Auntie to make me broth from my favorite Soup, an old family recipe that I LOVE. I put 1 tiny spoonful in my mouth and spit it right out. I couldn't even stomach it. You just reminded me I have some Nectar. I haven't tried it yet. I met a fellow sleever who didn't like it post op and passed it along to me. Its the lemonade one.

Thank you! Its been hard but I've done my best. I'm sure you will do great on your 2 weeks just keep reminding yourself that it's only for a few weeks and then real food comes back into play. Good luck on your surgery!

I wonder if being on the preop prepares a person fir postop? Originally, I wasn't supposed to be on one and I thought it would be super hard. I thought it be easy postop because of recovery. Preop has been much easier than I could have imagined. I DO want food but I'm such a rule follower, I know it's not an option so I'm just trying to roll along. Surgery is Friday and then just one week of liquids after!

    MnWin,
Thank You for the quik reply I will definitely join the thread for weightloss countdown after my surgery . I am ordering a few things online that my Bariatric education class listed for us to have before our date. I just don't like shopping when my nerves might be bad right before my surgery date. Also Christmas shoppers can be rude so I want to avoid that. I have been Christmas shopping online for 10 years so thats what I'll be doing this year too. I have read others Intro's and noticed that they gave more about theirself so I will add to mine that I am a woman who is 59 years young, my height is 5'3.5" and starting weight was 221lbs, I am Type 2 Diabetic on Insulin and have mild sleep Apnea, plus HBP...I started my pre-op journey on May 3 and finished my 6 month Medical Supervised Diet on Nov 7. My Bariatric Team sent in my test results and results of the supervised diet on Nov25 and the next day my Insurance approved it. So Dec 17 is my approved Surgery date. This will be a lifetime dream come true to be at a healthy weight! Glad to be here with all of the others who feel as I do.
    Kind Regards to all
    Laura

I had my surgery on 12/2. I'm feeling great other than this drain tube. I get it removed Tuesday morning, can't wait! Still struggling to get the Water and Protein in, but not stressing over it yet.

    Hi Cabstewart,
I'm also a 12/16 sleever! This is is the third day of my Preop and I had a hard time the first day. I felt a little dizzy and I did have something besides liquid. I too am very nervous. I was reading a post about two sisters that had surgery and one sister didn't make it a year, that is what I am truly afraid of. I've never been "under the knife" so my nerves are going haywire! I'm not having surgery to look good, I'm having it because of my co- morbidities and trying to have a better more energy filled life with my two young children. Every time we play I'm tired easily and out of breath and I feel like I'm cheating them of these moments with me because I'm overweight. I don't want to be that mom to them, and I Amos ready to live a healthier lifestyle. Looking good is just the plus of the surgery. But trust me I'm nervous, very nervous. I may need a Xanax before surgery, lol!

I'm officillay sleeved and home from the hospital. My surgery went well but I did have some wicked gas pains. I walked A LOT and got some relief. I was only allowed the lemon swabs until this morning...I was so happy for my sips of Water.< /p>

I was terrified of the gas pain! I never had any at all! I had some vomiting the first night which might have gotten all the air out but no gas pains like I was scared of! It's been easy peasy since that first night!

It's ALL about Protein and water!! My preop diet was 2 weeks of sugar free Clear Liquids. I never really got hungry because I was constant drinking protein (premiere protein). I was having 10-15 grams protein every hour or two. Between protein I had TONS of Water and broth and Jello. Keep up the protein it'll be worth it! Best of luck!!

Hey SoPeachy28. Its nice to know someone else is feeling the same way. The gas and rolling bowels have not been fun. I call my doctors office today and they advise me I could try to add some Fiber to to my Protein Drinks but only half of the directed amount. Or Try Gas-X. The diarrhea has gotten better thank goodness. I hope it gets easier as the days pass because this is uncomfortable. Also I'm so glad i found this forum. It's nice to know others are walking the same steps and all of you guys are great with advice. Thanks everybody

My surgery was Tuesday 12/3. I ended up staying a second night, which I'm glad I did. I was feeling very sore and I had a lot of gas pain /incision pain but that is getting better as I am now getting out of bed and walking. I slept a lot yesterday. I am now back at home still feeling sore but glad to be back home. Hope everyone is recovering well and good luck to all the up coming sleevers
