Is anyone left on this side or has everyone on this thread made it over to the losers bench? I recently found out I'm having surgery on Monday 12/30 just wondering if any other Dec buds are still waiting.

Thank you for writing this! I'm on Day 2 of my pre-op all liquid diet and it is really hard! I'm skipping Christmas dinner with my family tomorrow but will join them later on in the evening for socializing. I'm trying to be strong since I do know the importance of this preposterous diet. :-) I tried to type pre-op and it spell corrected it to preposterous which at this moment seems fitting... Lol Merry Christmas and thanks again for thinking of us pre-opers!!!

Started mine today too surgery nxt Monday this has to be one of the hardest seasons to do this but we will make it. I'm just grateful for the surgery!

Just got a call from surgeon's office- my date has been moved up from 1/29 to next Monday 12/30 I'm so sappy (that's scared and happy)!!! I feel just a little overwhelmed because I'm so behind on Christmas shopping now I have to add in surgery shopping AND my liquid diet just started. I feel cheated. I didn't get a chance to sneak in that last meal. The only thing I had this morning was a snowman cookie from Starbucks (don't judge me):-)!

I wonder why a lot of famous people don't choose weight loss surgery even those that we know that have struggled with their weight over the years ie Oprah. It just seems like they would have it done by the best surgeons in the best facilities money could buy.

I have a 1 week liquid diet I'm not looking forward to. I was mad when I had to survive on liquids until 4 pm for my EGD.

I'm not required to lose any weight. I gained about 10 lbs in the last 2 months. I've been overeating saying goodbye to all my favorites. I feel so bad physically. I have to stop. I'll wait to a couple days before my 1 week liquid diet to have some more food goodbye parties.

I agree it just seems like it's taking so long for the holiday season to come and go-never wished for that before since I'll be on vacation but I really want to get this surgery done.

Yes, I feel your frustration! I also have a BMI of 40, arthritis, patella femoral something or other ( bad knees) and recently been diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus. The last dx caused a stir because I have to switch from Sleeve to Bypass due to the acid. Still waiting on insurance and need to have this done in December for financial and employment ease. I'm anxiety racked... Haven't 100% researched the bypass and I had my mind set on the sleeve.. ;( I felt the same way-I spent so much time researching the sleeve only to find out I shouldn't have it due to gastritis that showed up during the EGD. I think drs need to add a disclaimer during the wls seminars and early discussions warning you not to get excited about any one particular procedure until all your test are completed.I feel fine about the bypass after researching the facts and not just people's perception of the surgery.

I think it depends on what solid foods you tried. It seems like most have trouble with chicken and tougher red meats. Also, depends on how well you chewed the food.

Just found out I'm approved I hope my date gets pushed up from 1/29.

This is an option for me as well how does it taste-is it more of a chocolate milk/hot cocoa or like a protein shake?
