    What can I do with...Avocado?

Okay that's it! I'm buying avocados today. Probably gonna cost a mint here midwinter but I don't care!

    What can I do with...Avocado?

Take a slice and a slice of jack cheese...roll a slice of turkey around it and then eat OR grill it in a pan then eat. Yum!

    Prices

I had tummy tuck, breast lift with augmentation (never ever imagined I would need implants, I've been larger than a D cup since high school) and brachioplasty all in one surgery and it was around 23k in California (we tend to have higher prices here)

    Brachioplasty

I'm still not sure id even gently use a loofah at this stage. Still so early. Maybe a soft washcloth or my hands and some antibacterial soap. My incisions were bandaged and taped with scar tape for six weeks post so I did nothing except go in weekly for new tape. I have nerve damage in my wrist from a completely different surgery that went awry. It's an unfortunate potential side effect of any surgery that messes around where there are nerve endings. My plastic surgeon was afraid he got too close to a nerve on my brachioplasty but he didn't after all. My tummy tuck and breast lift, however, I am still numb from six months later. There isn't a whole lot they can do to fix a severed nerve, honestly. I went to a specialist and he attempted to reattach it in my wrist, but it didn't work. It's annoying but not the end of the world. Two things, though. First, if there is a chance at nerve repair, it has to be done within the first 30 days or it won't work. So if you truly think there may be nerve damage and you would want surgery to repair it, I wouldn't wait. Second, if the nerve damage causes pain (mine is just numbness and tingling) there is a surgery to fix the pain. They basically "bury" the severed nerve endings into a bone. So the end result is numbness instead of pain. That surgery can be performed any time, not just in the first 30 days.

So What Do I Order @ A Bar?

I can't do carbonation so my go to's are - Wine Vodka Collins Greyhound (vodka & grapefruit) Cape Cod (vodka & cranberry) And the very occasional margarita (many places have "skinny" versions these days)

You posted in the plastic surgery section... Were you wanting WLS prices or plastics prices? Iwhich procedure(s)?

    Brachioplasty

I don't remember that type of pain with my brachioplasty, no. But I didn't spend any focused time specifically washing the incisions at less than two weeks out either. Mine were still pretty much bandaged up at that point. If the part you don't like is the "pie crust" type of raised incisions, don't worry! Those go away! I had them too and now at seven months out they are totally flat and faded. You really look quite good for so soon after! Very little swelling or bruising... Nice contour. I'm impressed!

    Running after surgery..

Oh and make sure you are hydrated. That can be a bigger issue than fuel. For longer runs, keep hydrated a few days before. I use electrolyte tablets in my water too. NUUN is the brand I use because they have no sugar, but you could chose sugar electrolyte drinks and then you have the fuel covered too!

    Running after surgery..

I started running 3-4 weeks post op with the couch to 5k program and did my first 5k race 4.5 months post op, my first 10k 9 months post op and my first half marathon 10.5 months post op. Now have run all kinds of distances on road and trail including a bunch of half marathons, Ragnar relays, sprint triathlons and a full marathon (training for my second now). It's completely do able! I didn't start fueling during runs until I was running longer than about an hour at a time. Then you really only need an extra 100 calories at a time, every half hour or so. And about the same 1/2 hour before the run. You don't need as much fuel as you think! Lots of options to try, though! All the regular gu's gels and Beans work for many, but there are lots of natural options if they don't--dried fruit, pretzels, fruit pouches aimed at kids, cliff makes some whole food pouches with fruit and sweet potatoes and beets and such. Fig Newtons. Peanut Butter pretzels. oatmeal. I make balls with 1c dried fruit, 1c nuts, 1c dates and 1t vanilla--food processor till the consistency of the inside of a fig Newton then roll in coconut flour or unsweetened coconut.

Dang, I'm sorry! They aren't able to get you fitted for inserts or anything to help? That's awful!

    Distance Running

I will look him up! How are your tri's going? I've done a few sprints but need a road bike before I do any more, my mountain bike just isn't cutting it! Biking is NOT my strong suit.

Have fun this weekend!!! I love the Disney races! Good luck with adding distance this year!

    Distance Running

Yeah that's what I said too, LOL! Just wait! The half is still my favorite distance. Have you done another Disney? They are so much fun! I'm jealous! I thought about the Hollywood half last year but it didn't make the cut. You'll have to let me know how it goes and if I should add it to my 2017 calendar!

    Getting enough calories

Has your doctor identified any other physical issues? The amount and variety of foods that cause you to dump seem really high especially for a sleeve patient, I just assumed it was the structure issue. Is he attributing it to your conversion from bypass to sleeve? Any predictions on when it will end? Seems like a cant win situation that may need medical intervention.

763 day streak.....I guess that is enough

Yay!!! That's awesome, congrats! I broke my dependence on MFP at about 15 months out (3 months at goal) as well, and now use it maybe a couple days out of every month to just "check in." Ditto the scale and I was a 5 times a day checker! Never thought that would happen. There is definitely no finish line, no bells, no confetti at goal. It's lifelong maintenance now. I am lucky, I maintain on a lot of calories (part of it is my running/yoga and muscle mass, but part is just damn luck!). But it definitely takes a while to figure out where the sweet spot is!

    Getting enough calories

What about another dilation procedure? I know you've been dealing with stricture. And I know you like that amount of restriction, but perhaps it's starting to damage your health.
  20. Well, or you could say the same volume of muscle weighs more than the same volume of fat--a square inch of muscle weighs much more than a square inch of fat. I actually find that concept quite helpful!
  21. This is an interesting read! I'm still digesting it, and more research def needed... But some validation for us who have never believed the calories in/calories out was cut and dried: http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/biggest-weight-loss-myth-revealed

    Getting enough calories

I've heard that the body will stop losing when you get to a certain weight where your body feels comfortable. What you ate yesterday has almost nothing to do with your loss of a pound today. We know that the calorie deficit has to be at least 3500 to loose 1 pound. So unless you ran a marathon yesterday, and burned 5500 calories, there is no way what the scale shows is reflective of your food consumption yesterday. I feel for you, I wish I had a good answer, but I don't. Keep trying to up your intake and be a couch potato ???? That's how most of us gained weight. For what it's worth running a marathon only burns about 2600 calories ????. Like you @@bellabloom I need between 1800-2000 calories per day to maintain. I wish I had some good answers for you. I think what the person above said about finding YOUR sliders deserves some merit. All the high fat/protein foods WILL fill you up. Try something that passes through quickly but isn't sugary. She suggested wheat thins... Popcorn? chips? CheeZits are mine! Gotta stay away from those LOL. Can you set a timer on your phone to remind you to eat something sliderish and not too calorie dense so it won't fill you up every hour or so? And yeah it will be a chore and a bother, but do it anyhow! Sometimes we have to do things we find boring and a chore for our health!

    Bras post lift

And I actually found a similar Walmart front zip close bra I wore a lot post op!
  24. jess9395

    Bras post lift

@@BethinPA post op you're typically better off in bras that are sized S:M:L or at least just by inches (32/34:36) instead of specific band:cup size. The doctor can't accurately predict your post op size and the swelling is variable.
