Surprise!
Join the club Honey, I was diagnosed back in October at the beginning of my journey. My surgeon prescribed me a med. that cost $500. I didn't have any prescription coverage at the time, so he basically prescribed 3 meds. that had all of the ingredients to treat it...2 antibiotics and Omerazole (Prilosec), the cost was about $130. I had to take about 8 pills a day for 10 days. Because I had C-Diff (like colitis) before (hospitalized for 5 days), I had to start taking a probiotic a few days before, 2 each day during, and for a few days after I finished the round of meds. I can definitely tell the difference. Definitely take everyone's advice and take the probiotic with it.

4 months sleeved w/ pictures
Curvy, I'm quite a bit older than you so I'm sure my style is probably a bit more conservative:) There were some cute dresses on that website. Another store that I like is http://www.catofashions.com/. I don't know where you're located, but they do have stores all over and you can order online. Hope that was helpful:)

Two-Week Final Preparations, 'Grim' Question
My will and advance directive are locked in a fireproof lock box in my house and my best friend/attorney has a copy as well. I have a copy of my advance directive ready in my notebook to go with me to the hospital. My mother knows my wishes, but when I told her she kind of changed the subject and didn't want to talk about it. It's in writing, signed by me. They know that I'm a very strong willed person and will (hopefully) respect my wishes. OR, I will come back and haunt them:)

Sassy, the most important thing is DO NOT GIVE UP. Just keep pushing. No one has told you no, so you keep moving forward and keep a positive attitude.

Same here Yazzy. I went home the next morning and went to bed and slept like a baby! lol Kinda hard sleeping in a strange bed with wires all over the place, AND it was FREEZING.

Do you have any other health (weight related) issues? Like high blood pressure, asthma, osteoporosis, high cholesterol, etc. The lower height definitely helps. For the longest I thought I was 5'3 1/2" but it turns out that I'm 5'2 1/2". Don't worry, it's going to work out.

4 months sleeved w/ pictures
You look fab lady! I especially like the last pic. with the black pants. I hope I'm able to keep the roundness of my booty like you seem to have done! No offense, I'm just being real. I like the shape of my butt, I hope it doesn't deflate like a balloon! lol

Is it just me?
Is it just me, or does it seem like the closer I get to being sleeved the crappier I feel? Maybe it's the weather? I don't know, but I think I have the winter blues...body aches more than usual, funky mood, no energy. I can't wait to get my new companion Sleavadiva:) Yes, that will be her name.

Check, check and check!
So you do understand! Yes, it is VERY difficult and frustrating to explain to people who are not going through what we deal with. I always get, "You don't look like you weight that much." or "You only need to lose a few pounds." They don't SEE or FEEL my pain (i.e. permanent spinal nerve damage, hyperlordosis, arthritis, joint inflammation, hypertension, asthma, high cholesterol, etc.). In an effort to make you feel better, they seem to minimalize your issues. My sister, who only weighs a little less than I do, she gets it that my physical issues and chronic pain are exacerbated by the excess weight and she totally supports my decision. She'll be right there with me when I go for surgery. Again, I get very frustrated and angry because my body won't do what my brain tells it, but I know that I'm in for big changes soon!

Check, check and check!
Thanks so much Indigo, I really do appreciate your kind words! I'm so looking forward to waking up one fine morning and saying, I FEEL GOOD! I'm in pain at every moment, it just depends on what level of pain and that's not a way to live so I'm really looking forward to getting sleeved, but I'm just afraid to get too excited until I actually receive my surgery date. Yes, we do have the same stats and you are not THAT much older than me lady! lol

Check, check and check!
Funny thing is, I have bad back problems (nerve damage) and coupled with respiratory issues (asthma) I haven't felt this bad in a long time. In pain, hard to walk, sucking in cold air (can't breathe). I realized that I'm literally fighting for a healthier life and I'm telling you victory is mine!

IV's
Yup, McButterpants is right, the trick is to not look at the needle. Just look away and distract yourself, it helps a lot. It'll be over as soon as it starts. You're lucky if you're not like me with the nonexistent veins. I'm like a pin cushion by the time they find a vein, so I make it a habit of just telling them to just put it in the top of my hand. It's more uncomfortable, but it beats getting stuck multiple times and black/blue marks all over your arms.

Check, check and check!
I braved the arctic weather and finished up my last few pre-op appointments today and I am ready for the next step, submitting to insurance for approval. I'm kinda getting excited...a little...lol
