  1. Got my date today...2/25/14.
  2. Yup, that's my surgery date .
  3. Tate, what you said is so true, THANK YOU:)
  4. My surgeon signed the scrip and I faxed it earlier this evening, so we'll see what happens.
  5. What??? I'm already SEXY AND FINE, I'll just be mo sexy and mo fine! lol
  6. ABSOLUTELY! When I spoke to your mom last night, I was telling her that although I want this really, really badly, I'm getting more nervous as it gets close, but I guess it's normal. I went to my pre-op orientation meeting on Tuesday night and the nurse supervisor told me that more than likely my surgery will be assigned about 10 days after my meeting with them today, so that's less than two weeks and I'm like WHOA!!!! lol I've been preparing for this for like 4 or 5 months, now I feel like I have so much to do to get prepared! lol
  7. Hey honey, I'm doing fine! I'm going to the doctor today to get my surgery date! yay!
  8. CurvyGoddess, are you CurvyCakes daughter???
  9. OneMoreTime, my doctor's office sells it too (I think that most do). But they are all for it if you (the patient) can get the insurance company to pay for it and they just don't have the staff to process the paperwork to have this done. Everybody's financial situation is different, so they would not get in the way of the patient being able to get supplements with no cost to them. I'm hoping this is approved by my insurance company as it would be one less thing to worry about.
  10. Just call and ask them for it:) it didn't give me that option either...what scar cream do you recommend? This is a specific scar cream they compound. Not sure of any brand to recommend. They offered me the cream but I (like a big dummy) said no. Now I could kick myself!
  11. A representative just called me. She faxed over the scripts to be signed by my surgeon this morning. I'll follow-up with them at my appointment tomorrow. Once he signs them and sends them back we'll see if my insurance company will cover it. She's getting me the scar cream too. We'll see what happens.
  12. Yes, how are you feeling JLS?
  13. Glad to know it's not just me. Those commercials irk me to no end!
  14. I'm gonna be starting my pre-op diet soon and since it's only me in my house, my cupboards and fridge are pretty much empty.
  15. Pre-Op orientation tonight. I get my instructions on the pre-op diet from the nurse, then Thursday I meet with my surgeon for my surgery date...IT'S GOING DOWN! I've got a strategy for the pre-op diet. To distract myself from thinking about food, I'm going to prepare for my recuperation. I'll clean my house top to bottom, one room at a time so It'll be nice and clean while I'm recuperating from surgery. I'm just a little OCD:)
  16. Mine was easy breezy. They just want to make sure you're not doing this for the wrong reasons. Just be honest, it's a conversation. It didn't hurt that my counselor had the surgery herself.
  17. Think back to a year ago and prior to that WHY you finally decided to take this route. Remember and think about what was the final straw was for you. Just like Teachamy said, they are saying that because they love you. I had a melt down last week because my mom expressed her worries, and asked me was I worried. I told her I would be a fool not to be, but I CANNOT CONTINUE TO LIVE THIS WAY. Understand, the closer you get, the more nervous others will get too. STAY STRONG AND REMEMBER ALL OF THE REASONS THAT YOU MADE THIS VERY IMPORTANT DECISION TO LIVE A HEALTHIER LIFE. For me, I say that I made the decision to LIVE not just EXIST and I'm looking forward to being sleeved soon.
  18. And the letter was basically saying we're paying for the surgery, but be aware that you'll have a lot of loose skin but we're not paying for THAT! That's cosmetic, so don't say we didn't tell you! lol Not quite those words, but they might as well have said it that way! lol
  19. Congratulations! Doesn't getting the official letter make it seem more real??? I got a verbal, then got my letter Saturday and was like, WHOA!!!! lol
  20. Thanks Leo, I just submitted my info.! I'm having surgery in the next few weeks (will get my definite date on Thursday).
  21. While my mom supports my decision and understands why I'm doing this, she is very nervous. I can't and don't really talk much about it around her because again, she supports me, but talking about it makes her uneasy (she has a history of panic attacks). For that reason, she will not be at the hospital when I have the surgery, which I am totally fine with. I don't think I can handle what I'm going to be feeling and at the same time worry about how it's effecting her too. She's wants to know when it's going to happen and when I begin recovery, then she'll want to know all of the gory details (once she knows her baby is ok - her words, not mine! lol). So, my big sister will be there with me and my niece (her daughter). Between the two of them I will be well taken care of for the first week or so, oh - and mom will come and visit too of course! With that said, I think you should do what will makes you feel comfortable. Whatever you do, just forewarn your caregiver that you will be in pain and your emotions will be all over the place, so don't take it personally.
  22. Yuppers!!! I have quite a few co-morbidities (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, back issues (nerve damage), sleep apnea....basically, I'm a mess! lol
  23. Well, I FINALLY got approved as of yesterday!!!! Whew!!!! I meet with my surgeon next Thursday to get my date and pre-op diet instructions.
  24. Sex? What's that? lol I don't recall:) It's not on my to do list at the moment, so until it is, I have my good friend BOB:)
