"Support Group" from rant to rave

I think the support group I attended is the worst ever! Including the doctor and myself it consisted of 3 people.❇

    Surgery after 65

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well! I'm getting really nervous because my surgery is coming up on the 15th. I have been trying to keep busy, but sometimes I seem to get too nervous for being busy and end up just worrying the day away. My pre-op diet is pretty good; I eat two small meals a day and two protein shakes made with water. I have been eating salads since it will be a while before I get them again, but the shakes are much better with milk. You are all in my prayers.

    Tips from success stories

Yes, we should all be able to post our opinion; however, we should not be telling people that their doctor, nurse or nutritionist is giving them the wrong info. We need to follow our doctor's instructions. Enough said.

    Tips from success stories

Sillyolme, no one is bullying you! And you have been giving medical advice to EVERYONE on this forum! Most of us have done a LOT of research before taking the step to have weight loss surgery. Like Smily I am paying my doctor for his years of experience with hundreds of patients. I'm Positive he and his staff have more education and experience in the weight loss surgery field than you do! I know you mean well, but your advice doesn't always agree with what our doctors and their staff recommend. I plan to follow my doctor's instructions to the letter. If someone wants your advice maybe you could private message each other.

    Not a sugar dumper but....

Fancy, so sorry you went thru that! I can relate since those episodes happen to me now and I haven't even had surgery yet. It comes on so fast that I often don't make it to the bathroom. I hope that never happens to you again!

    Tips from success stories

I agree with Smily! Sillyolme, you should not be dispensing medical advice. You aren't a doctor or a bariatric nurse for the doctor of anyone on this forum and you shouldn't be confusing everyone. We all need to follow our own doctor's orders!

    New Food For Post Ops...

    Thanks, Dave!

I want to drink out of a flippen straw!

My doctor's office said we'll be able to use a straw after 6 months. Can not use one right after surgery bcus we would swallow air which could make our pouches too full to fit in what we really need.

    Dance Walking

It definitely put a smile on my face! If I danced down the street where I live, people would think I'm crazy and they would be a little bit right!

    Surgery after 65

Ikm96h, I'm there with you eating things I won't be able to eat after surgery. I am so worried about gaining weight that I started my pre-op diet a week early! Do you have a surgery date yet?
