Hi Mike 4235506. I followed my doctors instructions to the letter when it came to my prep. I was told that they had changed it from 2 weeks to 10 days because so many people complained about how hard it was. I told them that it was easy for me to put on 200 pounds of excess weight. I went on the liquid diet for 3 weeks and didn't hesitate. I looked at my weight loss surgery as a new lease on life. I wasn't given a good prognosis at all when it came to my longevity. I sincerely hope that you Mike attack this with a vengeance because you will be given the opportunity to succeed. We all here on this site want you to do well.
I have a lot of skin on my belly that kind of bothers me. My arms and legs are ok. But I would really like to get rid of the belly skin. I may look into it but I don't really think that I want to spend that much money. What the heck, I'm 60 almost 61 years old. But I am going to start working out at the YMCA finally since I got my cardiac clinic and it would be nice to firm up the old belly. I would like to look better with a tucked in shirt. I didn't care how I looked for years. But now I find myself looking in the mirror a little longer every time I get dressed. I want to look good now. It makes a big difference after you lose the weight.
    Good luck Mike

    Hi Mike,
I'll have to agree with Andrew. Actually whatever size you are, you are. It only will seem to get bigger/longer because the extra fat/padding is used to fuel the body and it's more a ratio or proportion type of thing. Still yes mentally there is a bit of a surprise as what you see does make one feel as if a man's manhood as grown but again it is more to do with the area around it shrinking.
Matt, you are doing great. I've only lost 73 pounds in just over 3 months so your loss of 74 in about 2 months is great news. Of course I started at 430 and had my surgery at 400 so I am still 327 and not active enough with exercise. I do walk much more now but actually excercising is still difficult for me.

So the area or mountain of fat around the penis how does that go away. Fat dissappears? As now seems like my penis is a inne unless get hard or pull it out. Does that area go away? Also I'm hoping I don't have lots of extra skin most of my weight is in belly like a beer gut and then there's the tittys lol. Anyone can help would be great

Oh sorry I did forget to mention before I started pre-op diet I had ur exact body type just on a slightly larger scale. Meaning dont be too scared. Theres always goin to be loose skin with rapid weight loss. Im actually looking foward to the "stalls" in weightloss give me skin a chance to catch up. Also im thinking of (Not recommending it to anyone) increasing my cal count to slow down my weight loss. So skin has time to tighten up. Not drastically but enough to instead of loosing 8-15lbs a week im at 4-9 lbs a week. Just a thought. I work construction and even without exercise im loosing weight way too fast. Which is everyones dream but my concern for loose skin outweights loosing weight extremely fast. Im in it for life so not rushing.

Mike I had a boyfriend with a big belly once and he lost a ton of weight, all the fat down there goes away and his little friend was no longer so little anymore... Get my drift! Lol
You will soon be proud of it, trust me! And so what if you have some loose skin, that's what plastic surgery is for!

Hi Mike....definitely check out the Men's forum. There is a lot of great info from the guys over there!
Having the surgery is not an easy decision for anyone but the benefits far out weigh any of the negatives. Getting the weight off now while you are younger will save you from future health issues down the road. Don't let the possibility of some loose skin stop you from moving forward.
    Good luck!

Yea it just worries me cause there a guy at work my height and he's one year out and his biggest was 545. When I see him you can see his skin swaying side to side, his boob skin down to his belly button. I'm guessing he's ashamed of his body. But he says he happy. Now I don't weigh that much so might be much less of a problem for me.

First, ask your doctor about the chewing.
Next, the fact that you are 29 will be a major help in your skin just shrinking back into place. I am also 5'4" and was about your size at my largest. Now I'm a little less than 190 and I've been amazed at how I'll have flabby skin for maybe a week and then it will just kind of snap back into place.
Jared the subway guy was in his 20's when he lost all that weight, and did not need skin removal or cosmetic surgery because of his age...the skin just sort of shrunk right back in to place.
