Thank you all for your good wishes and welcomes I'm super excited, but nervous. But I know this will help me to get healthy again and be a preventive measure for my future so I'm glad I'm getting sleeved so young. I'll keep everyone posted!

My pre-op tests where chest xray, EKG, and labs. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. My doc says that after surgery while his patients are still asleep from anesthesia he does a scope to check out everything on the inside. and then the day after he does do the leak test. We have to drink nasty stuff and then they track it going down somehow, but I'll be totally conscious.

It's so nice to see this thread. My surgery is in less than a month so of course I have been stalking through BP for everything that may possibly happen after surgery. Mostly I see negative things. But apparently some people have no problems!! Thank you for lowering my anxiety level!

Btw, sorry about the sideways picture! No matter how much I tried I could not figure out how to make it up-and-down.

December 11th for me! Two weeks after Thanksgiving and two weeks before Christmas. I dont know how that happened but I'm considering myself lucky! Getting sleeved in Lexington Ky.

So many things! I love hiking and want to be able to do the harder trails. I want to be able to ride roller coasters again! I can't wait to do things that have a weight limit, like zip-lining. I want to go skiing! Something small that had always bothered me is that my shadow is always bigger than everybody else's when I go on walks with my friends. It's stupid but I will probably cry when I see my shadow the same size as my husband's.

Okay, hello everbody! Our dear friend Alex Brecher (dude from the first msg) told me I should introduce myself so here I am! My name is Sarah! I'm 22 and have a BMI of 53! Not good at all, I know! My mother is also obese and we recently decided to both get sleeved. We just decided this about a week ago and since then I've been trying to do as much research as I can about the enitre process! I'm so happy that I stumbled across this fun and helpful community! So I have a question that I haven't been able to find an answer for - How long will the process take from now (just making the decision, attending info seminars etc) until the actual surgery? I know that we'll have to do all kinds of tests and follow a diet and all that fun stuff. I understand that everyone has a different situation though, so what happened with you? I can't wait to get to know all of you!!

Holy crap! That's really a big difference from 6 months down to eight weeks! Huh. It seems we're all under the mercy of our insurance providers Well thank you for your replies, guys! I appreciate it!
